I bought a cell phone from a Circuit City store in another state. When I bought the phone I also bought Circuit City's 3 year replacement plan, meaning if ANYTHING went wrong with the phone in that 3 year time period, the phone would be replaced. My phone's display stopped working, so I took it to the North Little Rock branch. The phone was replaced.

Two weeks later my new phone stopped working, so I returned to the store to exchange it once again. But this time when I tried to exchange it they told me that they had no record on their computer that I received the phone from not just their store, but any circuit city store. However they did have information that my last phone was returned as well as the defect.

i agree

AUTHOR: Larry - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 13, 2006

I agree with the poser ahead of me. I work for Circuit City and I can tell you that our plan does not cover your phone if ANYTHING happens. And as for the dumb girl that returned tapes after she opened them, thats because we take returns on CERTAIN products even if they are opened. However, we do not take returns on open products such as PCs, Printers, Digital Camera's, etc. If you try to return one of those with an opened box, we charge a restocking fee on it.

Anyway, the original poster, your bought the protection plan and they replaced your phone. The protection plan is only good for 1 replacement. After the first replacement, you must purchase the warrenty again if you want the new replacement to be covered. Again, get things in writing before you buy.

"anything"??

AUTHOR: Peter - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 25, 2006

Circuit City does not sell warranty plans that cover "anything" that could possibly go wrong. That's right ... if you drop your phone in the toilet, if your dog chews the antenna off, if you run it over with your car, it is NOT covered. Read the warranty pamphlet they provided when you purchased said product. The terms and conditions are clearly spelled out in english and en espanol.

Lori the Liar

AUTHOR: Brian - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, July 31, 2003

Lori- I was actually amused by your fake post. Your post was great satire- you captured all of the idiot energy posted by most people on this site. I admired you until you waged a personal attack on Pegleg. There is no place on this site for personal attacks and I am disappointed in the editor of this site for allowing it. Pegleg responded to you tongue-in-cheek and you went psycho. Lori, get yourself a life. Now, to the matter at hand.

Anthony- what the hell is your complaint? You are upset because YOU did not keep your receipt. Sure, Circuit City keeps records of your purchase. If you cannot provide the customer service person with your personal information they will not be able to locate your purchase. Maybe you gave wrong info. Maybe the sales person entered your info. incorrectly. Maybe the computer is down. Maybe Circuit City's computer system is not infallible. Maybe YOU should have kept a copy of your receipt.

If you buy an item covered by a specific warranty do you not think it important to keep a receipt? Provide no proof of purchase and you get what you deserve- NOTHING!! KEEP YOUR RECEIPT PEOPLE!!! I know this is harsh but, KEEP YOUR RECEIPT, MORONS!!! Any company can claim they keep your purchases on record. But if they could not find your receipt? You're screwed. Take responsibility and save receipts for the items YOU purchase. Anthony was not smart enough to retain his receipt and is now upset. Why, loser?

you have a high impression of yourself, don't you

AUTHOR: Pegleg - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, July 03, 2003

What exactly do you mean, "especially hotties like you?" It sounds like you have a mighty high impression of yourself. Unless of course you are talking about how you are hot-headed. Or perhaps the hot steam that rises from the loads of crap you produce on this website day in and day out. Yes, that must be it. You are about as hot and steamy as an overpopulated, manure infested cow pasture on a hot, summer's day .....

Shawangunk is Wrong - As Usual

AUTHOR: Lori - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 02, 2003

Wrong!!!

Duh...

I purchase all the time from Best Buy (similar to CC), and get extended warranties, and they do cover if ANYTHING should happen!

I have returned phone that was dropped in toilet, floor cleaner (from the Kangaroo commercial) because I put the wrong cleaner in it, and broke it.

Really, I can usually return anything to any store.

I once bought cassette tapes to learn German, and returned them used, and opened. No excuse or reason needed! They took them back, and gave me my money!!!

If you can talk right to people, you can usually get them to take anything back... Most companies want to provide good service to consumers. Especially hotties like me.

I agree with the receipt and warranty comment.

Keeping good receipts is also good for when things go wrong.

Like, 3 months after we moved to our new home, it was burglarized... The house is secluded, except for the golf course, so in the winter, the golfers are in for the season. Anyway, two guys burglarized our house while we were at work, and I got homeowners to give us all the money for the stolen 747, DVD's, Jewlery, and my lap top..

It I did not have the receipts, I would never have gotten all my money back... Luckily, there is Guardian installed now... It is hard to believe in such good areas, there are bad kids on drugs looking to steal to get more drugs!

I couldn't sleep well for months, even after the alarm was installed!

wahh wahh wahhhh CRY ME A RIVER

AUTHOR: Shawangunk - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, June 23, 2003

First of all, the guarantee does not cover the phone if ANYTHING happens to it. What if you drop the phone in the toilet, or if your dog chews it to pieces. Do you really think the store will cover it?

Second of all, don't you think it's important to keep receipts for such guarantees? Where was your proof that you purchased this phone AND the guarantee to go with it?
