Sent 2006 Toyota Prius Multi-Function Display in to Classic Speedometer Repair twice for repair.  Seller could not repair item either time.  Seller refused to refund the $162.46 for repair.  I said that I would come pick up my money, Seller then said that he had a 45 caliber pistol & AR-15 rifile and to come on if I wanted to try and get a refund.

So it's OK for the seller to make terroristic threats?

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Monday, September 15, 2014

Lifetime warranty to me implies that if the person who purchased the goods or services from this company is entitled to a full refund if service was not completed satisfactorily.  If the company does not want to honor this claim of a lifetime warranty, they should not list it in their advertisement.  Furthermore, this customer received a terroristic threat from the seller when he requested a refund after service was not completed on two separate occasions.  Whether the seller has a right to refuse to issue a refund or not, to tell a customer that "have an AR-15 assault rifle and a .45 caliber pistol and to come on down if you think you can get a refund" is a verbal, terroristic threat via communication and could be investigated and subsequently arrested.

The Seller "Classic Speedometer Repair" stated in their eBay printed ad for repair service, that there was a "Lifetime Warranty" on all service work.  Which of course, they do not honor...

Law...

Sorry but there is NO LAW that says YOU get a refund. More to the point, the LAW favors the business AND the business owner. The adage of the customer is always right has not been true since the 1950s when the baby boomers flooded our society with their self-important self- entitled prodigy. What this means for YOU is that YOU will probably have to go through the MANUFACTURER to get this fixed. The seller has EVERY RIGHT to deny a return. A return by its nature is a courtesy extended to the customer in the name of customer service. But because the average consumer in America is a lying sack of crap who thinks NOTHING of screwing a business OR stealing from it as long as it gets them what they want, most companies will only go so far in doing any return. While we get it, your item doesn't work, YOU have to respect the rights of the seller as much as you want YOUR rights to be observed. If YOU made a threat or a unrealistic demand, the seller would be within THEIR rights to handle the situation in a manner that they felt was warrented. There is a saying...Caviet Emptor!!! Which is the latin for "Buyer Beware". YOU ordered from an online site. YOU DID NOT go to a reputable person or business. Its all nice and pretty when its THAT CHEAP on your computer, but its ALWAYS a risk. YOU don't KNOW what you are going to get until it arrives. If you stuck with the brick and mortar stores instead of online shopping YOU would have received your product and would have KNOWN if it worked and if it did not, well then YOU could have had it replaced with no problems. Providing ofcourse that it met the requirments for a return or exchange. THIS should concern you. The American Consumer is SO LAZY AND CHEAP that online ordering is all a lot will do. The problem is there is NO security and NO product responsibility. All it takes is one or two disreputable people to ruin the online shopping for everyone. So maybe shift BACK over to the brick and mortar businesses. Atleast that way YOU have some accountability.Yes its nice to get something THAT CHEAP, but that is ONLY if they send you a item that works.
