When I ordered my internet access, I was very specific to make sure I was getting the 6 months special I saw advertised on TV - 6 months @ $19.95 per month. The Comcast representitive on the phone didn't seem to know what I was talking about but placed the order anyway, she also said I had to have cable TV service with the Internet. Another 9.95 a month for basic. They came out installed the cable and left the modem for me to install (I wasn't home). I revieved a bill within a week expecting the monthly payment in advance. I paid it at the end of the month anyway. They shut off the internet access until the bill was paid. I reluctantly paid and sure enough after 3 months the rates went up to $45.00 per month for the internet service. I called to correct the matter and got a run around. The guy on the phone was new on the job and took a long time to try and look up which specials Comcast had run in my area. I don't think he was supposed to tell me this but, it turns out they had multiple different offers going at the same time. The specials ranged from free installation to 6 months @ 19.95 for 6 months. Apparently the reps have an incentive to get whatever they can get from you. He talked to his supervisor (who refused to talk to me) and said there was nothing they could do. He tried to connect me to customer service who might help but after 10 minutes on hold said he would have them contact me instead. They never did. The next person to call was someone threatening to disconnect the service again if I didn't pay up. I told them I wasn't paying anything until I got a corrected bill. I then called and had the service disconnected. Never heard from anyone until the guy came out to collect the modem and disconnect the cable. Good ridens. What a horrible company. I now have DSL Internet and a satallite dish. They work SO much better. Satallite provides details about what you are watching and has a lot more, better selection. Try it, you'll love it.
