Commerce Bank No longer an AMERICAN Bank, A Canadian Ripoff Toronto Canada
*UPDATE Employee: Confused...

*Consumer Comment: It seems to reason.
Ever since Commerce Bank was sold to Toronto-Dominion Bank their service has gone down the toilet.
They refuse to stand my their American customers. All they are interested in is the American money they can cheat from the American people. Matter-of-fact. The US Comptroller of Currency (branch of US government that governs banking) has no jursisdiction over them.
I hope you never need to call their corp headquarters because you better have international calling on your phone.
What a miserable sell out. How totally un-American.

Confused...

Obviously you are confused about the Commerce/TD Banknorth deal.
Yes, it is true that TD Bank NA is owned by a Canadian Financial Corporation, however you do not know the true reason as to why they bought Commerce Bank. Everything you are used to being a customer of Commerce Bank will remain the same. TD Banknorth liked the customer serviced based model of banking - instead of trying to emulate it, they bought it. Things are remaining the same!!!!
Perhaps you should try to contact the stores again - this time with your eyes and mind open. I suggest you try reading "Who moved my cheese?" It may help you deal with change.

considering how the US economy is tanking, we should expect that more US banks will be owned and operated by foreign entities. I would rather have a canadian bank running the show than Saudia Arabia. Or perhaps the bank will fail and you can lose all your money.

Since the American dollar is worth squat, I would suppose so is the American customer.
"How totally un-American." No kidding. They are Canadian.
