On 11/15/2008 i purchased a 2007 chevy HHR from this dealership, I asked the finance manager ( Maury) who do i senfd my monthley payment to he told me i mail to the Bank which is the Lein Holder, I asked him who the bank was he said a bank was not assigned however if you look at my sales contract the Loan is attached with the finance charge and the date for the First payment is mentioned, I signed and agreed to the cointract terms. I even gave the dealer 3 checks to cover the Downpayment of 1500.00 in installments. After driving off the dealerships lot on that day, and driving the vehicle 400 miles per day 2 weeks later on 11/24/2008 i received a letter from Maury stating they were unable to retreive a bank to cover the loan and they want the vehicle returned. I have contacted GM, Attorney General of california, DMV Investigative Office in canoga Park,ca,BBB, and the Dealer it self to file a complaint. My complaint to this matter is why was i able to drive off the lot with no Official Loan or Bank assigned. Im willing to pay for the vehicle per month . if i return the vehicle now , I stuck with no vehicle and the Community Chevrolet has jeopardized my Job. My suggestion to the dealer would be well they made the mistake by letting the vehicle go without a loan approved then they need to cover as a inhouse loan and i pay the dealer. or with the way the laws are they should just eat the amount owed.

No wonder why GM is going bankrupt with dealers like these people just giving cars away without a loan.
I donot need this problem, I work very hard for a Living, I work 14 to 20 hours a day just to struggle. and this Dealership is trying to make my life a living hell. If GM allows dealers to conduct like tthis then they deserve to go bankrupt, because they are nothing but s**t. Especially when i have been a loyal Chevy customer for my years alive.

Community Chevrolet Response to Douglas Lightsey

AUTHOR: Community Chevrolet - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 12, 2008

Community Chevrolet is taking this opportunity to reply to a post submitted by Douglas Lightsey on this website.

Mr. Lightsey purchased a 2007 Chevrolet HHR from the dealership on 11/15/2008. At the time of sale he informed our sales staff that he was getting approval for financing with Drive Time financial. After taking possession of the vehicle he called and stated he would like our dealership to secure financing, instead.

We subsequently submitted his application for approval with various lenders. After carefully considering his application, finance companies declined to finance his auto purchase.

I contacted and spoke with Mr. Lightsey by telephone to inform him that his application had been denied and that he would have to return the vehicle. He refused our request and stated good luck getting the car back.

Following policy Mr. Lightsey was sent a letter of right of rescission by certified mail on 11/21/2008, asking him to return the vehicle. Again he refused to comply.

After exhausting all efforts to resolve this matter amicably and not receiving any cooperation, we dispatched a repossession company (on 11/25/2008), to locate and return the vehicle to the dealership, as is our right. The vehicle arrived with significant damage and he refused to take responsibility.
