Back in February this year, I spoke with the owner of the fraudulent company Computer Analysis of Texas run by Bruce Horn.  I needed some data recovered from a hard drive on my busted laptop. He said he was a police officer, and was authorized to do the work.  I went to his location, and dropped off my items with the secretary who stored them because it was getting late, and I assumed he would pick them up when he got to work. No problem, she locked it up right in front of me.  Everything seemed like it would work out well.

About a month went by, and I called for a status update.  Bruce said they were working on running it to find out how bad it was, and he could tell me how much it would be, and when it would be ready.  About another month went by, and I got in a back accident that put me out of work for five months.  I told him that I could not afford the $800 quote he gave me, and he said he might have a friend that could do it cheaper.  His friend, whoever that may be, said $700.  I said that I better wait until I am working again or come across some money, and that I would pay him whatever I owed for the analysis, and to give me my things back.  Another month went by, and things got complicated with me.  I had to have an additional surgery, and my computer was the last thing on my mind.

When I got back on my feet, I called him and he said he could return it to me, but then I told him I came across some money and was about to start work, so let's get started. This was in July. I went back to his office and dropped off a deposit.  He said the people in the clean room would send me a screenshot of the desktop, and then ask me which folders were the most important to recover.  That never happened.  Another month went by, and I asked what the progress was.  He said they were working on it, and I said that I never got the screen shot, and they are probably recovering a lot of unnecessary data.  He asked which folders I wanted, I told him, he said ok I will let them know.  Another month went by.

At this time I was irate, I called him once a week to get a status update and tell him how important the data is to me, he didn't care.  He returned one of my texts and probably two to three of my phone calls in an eight month time span.  To this day him and his secretary are telling me they are mailing my stuff back, and I will have it at the latest by next Saturday.  Of course, I am not expecting any of this to happen.  If I get my items by then I will pull the report, if not, I am going to the news.  All of my military pictures are on that hard drive, and I am extremely upset with this non -veteran friendly rip-off fraudulent organization.

In closing, here is what happened between Mr. Horn and I.  He got one of his attorney friends involved who sent me an email trying to get me to back down in January.  I responded by getting my attorney to send his an email saying based off the case I presented, he would be screwed in court.  The agreement was for a full refund of $400, my laptop and associated charger to be returned, as well as my external hardrive.

Bruce said there was a discrepancy, because I only paid him $300, and he had it counted on camera.  He is full of gargage.  I have the ATM receipt for the money I withdrew minutes before I went in his office.  Additionally the secretaries do not give receipts for items and money dropped off.  Their word against yours basically.  Very stupid on my part of course for not asking, but I was not aware I would have a problem down the road, and I could go in their office anytime if I had a complaint.  He said he was a police officer, so I figured I could trust him.  Never again will I be so naive.

The next say I went in there and a check was waiting for me for $225, and just my laptop, charger, and internal hard drive were waiting for me.  Basically he stole my external hard drive, and $175.  I did not fight it, just because all I really wanted all along was my data, and it would be more expensive to get everything rolling with my attorney.  He knew that of course.

This man and his company are total garbage.

The same day I took my hard drive to a different company, and they said it was badly damaged, but they would do everything they could to get my data for me for $200. They recovered 99% of my data for $200, and I had it all back in two weeks.

Bruce quoted me at $800, kept my items for a year and did nothing, then ripped me off for $175 and my external hard drive.  Please do not make the same mistake I did and work with this wicked organization.
