Consumer Protection Financial Advisory Board Tried to rip us off Clearwater Florida

We were contacted tonight around 8:00pm by a lady saying they could reduce our credit card payments by reduceing our intrest and cutting our bill in half or by about $7000.00 if we qualified.
We asked alot of questions to which they gave vauge answers, but kept saying they were protected by the fedreal goverment program like the banks FDIC and were not a consoladation company, but that they worked with banks to reduce intrest so more of your payment went to the principle. After a while they said all they needed was the card number on the front of the card and no numbers from the back and the last 4 of my wifes SSN, because with out the number on the back of the card they could do nothing with it, that this was just for verification and approval.
My wife gave them this information while I looked on the Net and found this site and alerted her to this SCAM. The lady said she was going to record my wifes approval and $995.00 would be charged to this card which we would get back. At this point my wife said she wanted to call the bank to be sure this was not a SCAM at which point the lady said she would have to termanate the deal if she hung up, so my wife told her if they were a legimate company then they should not have a problem with her checking it out at which time the lady said good bye and hung up.
We called the bank and found out that with the last 4 of your SSN and the card number and under a $1000.00 they did not need the numbers on the back of the card to charge the card.
The bank did say they do work with some companies like this but did not see them listed and we would have to wait untill in the morning to see if it had been charged, and if so we could file a fraud complaint and the funds could be returned, but that this was most likely a SCAM.
The supervisors name was Keira Henery and the phone number she gave was 1-877-557-2322 Ext-1005, when we called the number a recording said they were closed to call back during normal business hours. Which are?
Anyway DO NOT Fall for this SCAM and I hope we do not get charged.
They do have a web site that I found while we were on the phone with them that now all of a sudden I can not seem to find anymore.
