On January 04, 2013, at approx. 6:00 pm

I received a call from COMSUMER TELECOM Company from a lady using the name Helen who said she was required by the new FTC LAW to contact everyone in Montana about this new phone discount program.

That this would add up to a yearly discount total of $120.00 per year minimum off my bill. No fees applied except a $1.00 transfer fee the $1.00 fee would be reimbursed to me on my next phone bill. She said I would receive a notice by mail within the next few days.

That my phone company Centurylink was merging with theirs and I that qualified for a $10.00-15.00 monthly credit off my telephone bill. That I would see the name COMSUMER TELECOM on my next bill but that it would show no charges or fees, just the name COMSUMER TELECOM.  That this is a New Free Service and COMSUMER TELECOM would not be making any money off this deal. It is OKED buy the FTC.  She then gave me three 800 telephone numbers. The first two to contact her if there are any problems  The third number to call if I wanted to disconnect my telephone.

She then put another lady on the line calling herself Judy who asked me some questions to confirm my order. To give my OK, which I did.

After hanging up I thought I recognized the first two numbers Helen gave me.  So within 10 minutes I called the first two 800 numbers both are ATT Customer Service numbers. ATT dose not have landline or DSL service in the state of Montana.

I went online to my telephone company Centurylink and put in a search for the name Consumer Telecom and they never heard of them.  I Googled the name Consumer Telecom and they came up as Telecom scammers. Within 30 minutes I called the third number 800 number Helen gave me and talked to a man, he asked me why I wanted to cancel the order. I told him this is a SCAM that the first two 800 numbers were ATT customer service and I had already contacted and checked with ATT, my phone company Centurylink never heard of them and I Googled their name CONSUMER TELECOM.

I told him I also checked out their company online and with RIPOFF REPORT. CONSUMER TELECOM are telecom Scammers. He DID agreed the first two phone numbers belonging to the ATT company.  I told him to CANCEL my order and that I needed a cancellation number he gave me this confirmation number 7349. I also told him I was still going to file a complaint with the bbb.org.  I will also be contacting the FTC.GOV, the Montana Public Service Commission and my phone company, Centurylink.  I am on a FIXED income. I just hate people who STEAL FROM THE POOR!
