Continental Warranty Useless Warranty Lynnwood Washington

Prior to purchasing the Continental Warranty, I called the company to ask many questions related to how often they refuse to pay claims. They told me that it was "almost never" that they turned one down. I asked specifically about replacing engines since I was purchasing a used car with no knowledge of the prior history. I was assured that I would have no problems with being covered. They had the option of inspecting my car prior to issuing the warranty, but did not do it.

After having the car for a couple of years, the engine in fact did fail. My dealership looked at the engine and said that from what they were seeing, there shouldn't be a problem, especially since I had been faithful in having the maintenance done. A representative was sent to my town to inspect the car and informed me that they would not cover a replacement engine due to 'sludge' in the engine. My feeling is that if they chose not to inspect the car and willingly took my money, that they should have made good on the contract. They even refused to refund the money I spent for the piece of paper.

I made complaints and phone calls to no avail. The $1448.00 that I spent for this useless piece of paper was wasted with the exception of a small repair on a separate occasion of a fan.

I would never again spend money on a warranty from this company. The up front talk is good, but they don't back it up.
