In December of 2017 i purchased an online course from cornerstone appliance repair training for $800.00. i made the purchase based on it offered a certification and what was said on the site for taking the final exam to get the certification, all of the requirements were met to take the final exam, it took 5 or 6 emails to get a response from them to get the information to take the exam.  i was then told something other than what his website states about the requirments to take the exams. I sent him pictures of what his site states, 4 days later no response, i then sent him another email stating that i will go else where to take the test and get the certification and that his course was useless with out the paper, and that i was done playing his games and he could just go ahead and refund my money, as of today no refund.

Below i will show you what the website says then i will post the actuall email they sent me.

Cornerstone Appliance Training Certification Requirements
At Cornerstone Appliance Training (CAT) you will develop your repair skills with Our Appliance Repair Training Course. Our program will cover how to make both major and minor repairs of all Major Residential Appliances. With CATC, you train at home and at a pace that's right for you, and you can complete the Fundamentals of Appliances Course in as little as 1 to 3 months!

Our Appliance Training Course has 8 Modules (Step Videos & Course Materials), at the end of each Training Module is a Practice Exam. The Practice Exams are designed to reiterate what you have learn in that specific module, to ensure you have grasped the information.

If you want to receive our Certification Certificate from Cornerstone Appliance Training, then you must achieve an 80% or higher on all of your chapter quizzes.

Upon completion of the CAT Program or One of our Training Course(s) you will be given a Final Exam (80+ Questions).  You must score a 90% or higher to receive the CAT Graduate Appliance Training Certificate of Completion for your respective course or membership.

We offer a Certification Certificate for the following:

BusinessPro Membership
Professional Business Bundle
Fundamentals Training Course
Refrigerator Training Course
Advanced Appliance Troubleshooting Course
Business Management Course
Cornerstone Appliance requires our students to have been a member of the CAT for 60 days before taking the Appliance Certification Final Exam.  You will be given 2 chances within 60 days to retake the exam, if you fail on your first attempt.

Anyone that fails to meet the 90% achievement on the final exam, will be required to wait 90 days before retaking the Certification Exam.

However, any student that desire to take the test in 30 days (determined on a case by case basis), can send a request to Cornerstone Appliance Training.  We will look at the practice exams results of your practice test since you have been a member.

 

The Following is cornerstones statement by email.

 


Our POLICY for ALL students that were NEW/BEGINNERS to the Appliance Repair Industry. My partner and I decided that we did not want to hand out Cornerstone Appliance Training Certification Certificates like candy!!

After being in this field for over 11 years and training several local beginners.  It is IMPOSSIBLE to learn this ENTIRE field in a month to 3 months... Period!!

That is why initially we required the 6 MONTHS waiting period before taking Cornerstone Appliance Training Certification to ensure that ANY student that received our Certification was Professional and a Very Competent Appliance Technician.

You and I talked about this and you had NO problem with it until lately. For the LAST TIME!! You will receive an email with your opportunity to take the Certification Exam.  If you decide not to take it that's up to you.

We have provided EVERYTHING that you signed up for in November 2017... Period! Your and all the other students 6 month waiting period is May 2018.

So now you can see that his statement in his email is far different than what he says on his website.

he had no interest in hornoring this exam until i demanded a refund then he demaneds that i now take his exam, there was always a problem after he denied the exam on myt first request and he changed the rules, but yet he has no mention of this on his site. He also Stated in another email that the 6 month waiting period was on his web site as of today, it is no where to be found. I would highly recomend to stay away fromn this guy and his courses you may be the next to out of 800.00 dollars and only get videos and a service manule.

Last night on 3/20/2019 i submitted another update / rebutal,  it wasd based on my assumpton, I was wrong to assume. There seems to be a delay in my email and just minutes ago 3/21/2019 i did get an email from Chris stokes at Cornerstone Appliance Repair LLC. At this time  i want to apologize  to chris for the harsh words and assuming what was not the fact.

Chris and Cornerstone has agreed to resolve this matter and work with me, and has sent new log in information,

the account was locked out and was an oversite to unlock it, I will be refreshing the course was instructed by Chris to message him when i am ready to take the exam for the certification and he will then be issuing it.

At this time, I would like to fully Withdraw my complaint against Cornerstone Appliance training LLC and Chris, our dispute has been resolved and i am satisfied with the results. For any one who may run across this complaint in the future, i will strongly recomend this course, it is a good course if you pay attention, and very affordable compaired to all of the others,  if you do have a dispute, keep in mind, how you approach it and keeping kind words, you may not have the problems i experienced.

So from my update from just a few days ago, as many of you emailed me and requested me to contact chris and give cornerstone another chance to fulfill ther obligation of the course that they were paid in full for over a year ago, i did make contact with Chris, and he did respond with a demand that i retract my complaints against him, then he would reinstate the lifetime membership in wich he was also paid for over a year ago.

I responded and told him that after he completed his obligation and i took the test i would then clear his name, but until then, as you see in my update i did post that we agreed to work together and resolve this matter, so again Chris refused to resolve the dispute by not responding, not only has he not fulfilled his obligation he has now revoked the lifetime membership that he received payment for, and then went on to tell me that i deliberately defamed his name, however what Chris fails to realize is that he was paid for a complete course and that he did  not meet his obligation to provide it.

Here is chris's youtube channel  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAxVAuhu-8M   That very clearly lays out the requirements to request the exam, these requirments i did meet above and beyond, chris has access to the course test scores times dates and the scores, based on  his requirements,  i was clearly qualified to request and take the final exam for the certification, and after requesting the test he emails me back and says i have to wait the 6 months.

A couple weeks later when i emailed him and stated  that i will get the certification by another source and that he could just refund my money,  then he wants me to take the exam, Chris forgets to mention this in his above statement. I would have even excepted a partial refund.

when i filed this complaint, in Chris's rebutal his excuse is that you cant possibly go throught the corse in 3 months, and would be giving certifications out like candy, but then days later updates, and states that they have now changed their policy, and even though you cant possibly do the course in 3 months they are now going to do so, if you claim it cant be done then why change it?

This week he was given another chance to resolve this and move forward and he choose not to, he also makes the statement above (we made every to resolve this with the student)  if that was so chris we would not be on ripoff report, and so now you had another chance this week, so Chris where was your every effort this time?

you through it away on demands, See Chris what you dont understand you were paid in full over a year ago for a complete course, in which you did come very close to fulfilling, but until you do, you have no rights for any demands or requests, in which had you done so even the second chanceyou were given i would have been more than happy to retract the complaints, but your failure to honor you exam requirements and to fullfill your obligations you were paid for is why we are here.

all that was ever asked of you was to honor what you were paid to do, It was soley your choice not to follow your guidelines you still have up today on youtube, and it was your choice not to resolve the dispute this week, not only that you have revoked the membership that you excepted the money for, your making your self look bad not me.

So with that being said I do at this time want to thank all of you watching for your support, and the over 70 emails i have received on this complaint, i want to also give a special Thanks to the bloogers who are getting this complaint out over the internet, and the hand full of people who are working behind the scene to make sure this does not happen to any one else, the public support has been mind blowing and i Thank each and every one of you for your support. Those of you that have requested the emails to and from cornerstone this week i will be forwarding them to you tomorrow.

Chris i will wait for your reply, and it too i will rip it apart, and keep in mind i do have every email from day 1 from our conversations, and pictures of the messages sent to you on the cornerstone , so be smart, be honest, and tell the whole story. I will post them if needed, it is time you except the fact that you have stained your name and your chances are now done, you did that when you blocked acess. Chris why is it that you refuse to comment or speak about the youtube channel that explains the requirements???????????

UPDATE: At this time  chris from cornerstone appliance repair training, and my self have come to an agreement and i will be doing a refresh on the course, and then attempting to take the exam to obtain the certification.

At that time i will agree to recant fully my complaint against chris, and cornerstone appliance repair training LLC and all party's involved. I do wish we could have resulved this issue before any of this wound up on this site, but at least we are hopefully now working together to resolve this and move forward.

I really think he should go take his own course section on customer service.

corner stone refused to give the exam as stated on his site, he refused to give the exam after three months and after multiple dozens of passing the tests  getting 100%,  he states that he had verbal conversations with me and just like he stated that the 6 month waiting period  is on his website he is a lier, it is not on his site as he said and chris you know  well you have never had any verbal conversations with me, in fact when i emailed you adn ask if you would be available i wouls like to speak with you at 8:00 pm that night , you never replied back,   Its one lie after another.

you refused to give the exam until i ask for my money back then you decided to give the exam at which that time was too late, i never agreed to your 6 month waiting period that you claim i was ok with,another lie.

It saddens me that Corner stone has to resort to selling its 800.00 courses under one pretence then after being paid in full, decides to change it, i also like how he just deems that one who he knows nothing about as a beginner, its obvious that if one after 3 months can pass all of the 12 course tests with 100% can be a beginner in which if what he says in his email that no one can pass the course in 90 days, it odd that i was able to pass them all many times with 100% score

We tried every way possible to work with this student.  When I first started the Cornerstone Appliance Training LLC, my goal was to help as many people as possible start their own business easily and very affordable.  After seeing and reading how so many of the other Online Appliance Training Courses were making Residential Appliance Repair extremely EXPENSIVE and TECHNICAL to understand. 

I wanted to provide an EASY, AFFORDABLE & SIMPLE Online Appliance Repair Training that offers a COMPLETE Business in a Box... Period!! 

As I stated to the this student when he purchased the course, that we are new to the Online Appliance Repair Training and wanted to ENSURE that ANY STUDENT that received a Appliance Certification Certificate from Cornerstone Appliance Training LLC. That they presented the SKILLS, ABILITY, PROFESSIONALISM, APPEARANCE & CUSTOMER SERVICE that would we would EXPECT from a GRADUATE of Cornerstone Appliance Training LLC.

After a number of conversations, both verbal & via emails.  He was fine with it and continued to access the BusinessPro Membership & take the practice test to improve his chances of meeting the requirements of the Final Exam.  He was ONLY A WEEK AWAY from taking the Final Exam.  I told him thru NUMEROUS Emails and ASKED HIM TO CALL IF HE HAD ANY QUESTIONS SERVERAL TIMES!! Also, GAVE A DATE THAT HE COULD TAKE THE FINAL EXAM and if he MET the EXAM STANDARDS, WOULD RECEIVE HIS CERTIFICATE.  

For whatever reason, HE REFUSED.  Which still has ME BAFFLED.  If this is what HE wanted other than the Appliance Repair Training, Manual, Material, Appliance Business Website, Live Tech Support, etc.. WHY DID HE REFUSE TO TAKE THE FINAL EXAM AND RECEIVE THE APPLIANCE TRAINING CERTIFICATION CERTIFICATE?

NOT TO MENTION THAT WE ARE ONE OF FEW (IF NOT THE ONLY COMPANY) THAT OFFER IT TO OUR STUDENTS FOR... FREE!! We have over 175 Life-Time Students (and Growing...) that are EXTREMELY PLEASED with the Cornerstone Appliance Training Course & our support.

UPDATE:  We just had a STUDENT TAKE THE TEST that has been with us for 3 to 4 months (BECAUSE WE REMOVED THE WAITING PERIOD AFTER REPEATED REQUEST FROM OUR STUDENTS) and MISSED STANDARDS BY 5%.  He will RETAKE IT (FOR FREE) in 30 Days!!

We will CONTINUE to HELP as many people as possible to LEARN the Appliance Repair Business & Start their Own Appliance Repair Business ASAP!! I believe that Residenital Appliance Repair is one of the Easiest & Low Startup Businesses ANYONE Can Do!!

Unfortunately, I regret for this student that we could not solve this situation without resorting to this.  I wish him that best with his future endeavors.
