While my brother-in-law was working, Cortez Towing took my car. They have given me the run-around with differant stories as to why they towed my car. This is the 2nd time they have done this. The store security is in with them as they keep giving dumb stories about why they called the tow company instead of the police. I would like to know how to report this evil tow company to the District Attorneys office.

the 1st step should be to call your local police dept. The D.A's office won't take action unless they recieve hundreds of complaints. In California, the vehicle code clearly outlines the laws of private property towing. Your report is rather vague and you don't mention where exactly the car was parked when it was towed-was it on a city street? in a red zone? handi-cap spot without permit? city lot? private parking lot? If it was a private parking lot, is the lot that belongs to your brother's employer? If he's parking in another business's lot, do they have signs clearly posted at the entrance saying "private property. unauthorized vehicles will be towed at owners expense" with the police depts. phone #? As far as why it was towed, if you make a valid complaint to the tow company, I can't see why they wouldn't tell you the exact reason. They may lie about why it was towed, but they will still give you a reason. There are probably hundreds of bad towing companies out there, but they always have, in their eyes, a valid reason for towing someone's car. They don't go around telling people they don't know why their car was towed. Are you sure your not just upset over having your car towed & having to pay to get it back? I'm not accusing you, your report is just rather vague. Perhaps your car was illegally parked and the person who parked it was unaware?

How do you report them ? It's as easy as 1-2-3.
1. Pick up the phone
2. Dial the number to the District Attorney's Office
3. File a report.

There. Wasn't that easy ?
