Courtyard Marriott Lansing MI THEFT AND NO MANAGEMENT SUPPORT Lansing, Michigan

We stayed at this hotel over 4th of July weekend.  We were in town visiting family and friends and to attend a wedding on Sat.  I had brought a $200 camera with me on my trip.  Friday we spent the day in Grand Ledge whereI grew up and took pictures atthe ledges.  Friday evening I brought the camera in the hotel room toshw my sister the pictures we had taken earlier.  I set the camera on the desk in the room before going to bed and Sat. we were in a hurry to get to the wedding that I forgot my camera in the hotel room.  I mentioned this to my husband as we were driving to the wedding.  When we returned to the hotel around 4:30-5 pm the housekeepers had cleaned the room and the camera was missng.  I called the front desk and the girl who answered did check lost and found and called maintenance to see if it was there.  Well of course it wasn't.  I called again on Sunday and was told the manager was out of town and no one could make a decision on the matter.  We checked out early.  I was told the manager would call me on Monday and it didn't happen.  I emailed him Tuesday an finally got a reponse that he would "look" for it.  Really???  It's been 3 days at this point.  Lessons learned staying at this hotel:

 1.)  Not all Marriott's are upscale

 2.) Do not leave valuables in a room without a safe

3.) Call the police not the front desk ESPECIALY if there is no manager or decision maker on duty.
