Cr England tells you that you are the Boss. That you can refused any load. That you are responsible for your activities of your truck. It is not true. I had so many problems with my dm that he even started yelling at me. He was a very posesive dm. He put me in wiating at a place with no loads. 4 days. He told me on the phone not to refused any loads. Or this will happend again. After that i did not accept bagain any loads until I had a chance to talked to Mr. G England. They told me that I need it to talked to Aron Shepperd. Once I got in the phoned with him He told me that he was in charged of operations and that Mr. G. England had nothing to with nthe operation. I am really sad that a employee ignores the cry for help in a companie. And he did not listen. I lost money in this companie. Becaused I was always struglling with dm to get the miles, week after week. One time I waited 3 days in New Jersey and they wanted to pay me $25.00dlls.

I was really outraged. Beware drivers that think that cr england is the best companie. It is a good companie but the people that work their are crooks. They are more interested in what the truck makes, not you as a driver but the truck. They have so many students going in to training, that they do no keep any old drivers. They want them out. So they can placed more student drivers to drive the trucks. As I say before is not the companie but the people that worked for the companie. They make you feel miserable. And another thing if you quit they will tell you to take the truck to Salt Lake City, ut and they will have guards waiting for you so they can trow you out with all your stuff on the street. And loosing everything you have. As I say is a good companie. But the people that worked there are crooks and they do not respect the owners of the companie.

Lived it, Done that, Abused, and Lied upon

AUTHOR: 111222333 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 08, 2011

What Trucking 101 stated seem to make sense, however, I have done everything that he suggested and none of it worked.  England bankrupt me.  I was living on my savings and receiving very minimal wage.  To make it worse, they gave me a Lemon truck, which they refused to change with a truck that works.  At orientation, we were told that if the lease truck breaks down that we will get a loaner, well, that is not as easy as it sounds.  They give you hell trying to get a loaner and still I did not get the loaner.  I could write pages of England abuses and Lies, but it makes me more angry when I think about it.  Trucking 101 may make sense, however, I have lived it and done that, so you cannot fool me.  You does sound like one of those England crooks, deceitful and conniving.

1000 driver managers with 20 trucks per?

AUTHOR: Kidnkorner - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, May 30, 2009

Trucking101
Boise, Idaho
U.S.A.,

"1- driver manager- say 20 trucks.
(just so you know they have over 1000 driver managers and each has a Fleet. not 20 trucks- a fleet)."

1000 driver managers with 20 trucks each? That would mean that the company has 20,000 trucks which according to safestat they have 3600 trucks. Driver managers have anywhere from 30-70 trucks/drivers in their fleet.

I don't know if you were saying this was a myth or fact but with your grammar and sentence structure it's very difficult to ascertain much from your input.

I can say from my experience that CR England doesn't have any standards for the drivers they hire. Most of the recruits have poor hygiene, bad manners, don't have any pride in their appearance with many looking like the people you would find on the TV show "COPS." They recruit these poor soles with hopes and dreams of making it big and most of these fools only talk about what kind of truck they want to lease when they are done training. If they only knew what was in store for them.

Something has to be said about companies who don't conduct real face to face interviews. I would send home 95% of the people I see.

I too don't recommend anyone working for them. I didn't have many choices since my employment in Kuwait would not be considered and I had not driven a truck in 1.5 years.

To Steve and Trucking 101

AUTHOR: Nicolette - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 14, 2009

Steve you are wrong. I run under Landstar Ranger's authority, I own the truck and use company van's ,but I am under ZERO obligation to run where they tell me to run, as the Entity of Landstar is not in the dispatching business. I can run 500 miles, deliver and take off to the beach for 2 weeks and not one soul will call me. I can deadhead home 2,000 miles and no one will ask why! I have options on 4 to 5,000 loads a day all over the country and I choose when and where to run! Period! At my orientation in Reno (just me and 2 other fella's...nothing like Big Ol' England...and the Super 8 at the Casino was beautiful!) the 2 other guys GAVE UP their Authority and Plates to lease onto Landstar....both 20 and 33 year Stepdeck haulers with own trucks and trailers who have been hauling for Landstar and other Agents for years but couldn't book enough freight....you hook up with someone like Landstar to get inside the Freight base, ya' see? And to Trucking 101 ,I get where you are coming from ....I was leased on to JBK for 4 years hauling cryogenics and got paid every 2 weeks....so especially coming up to that last payday/fuel cutoff I would run it to fumes!! This is kind of a paycheck to paycheck existence though, and all you are doing is robbing Peter to save Paul...unless you run till your wheels fall off, you will eventually be caught up with at the end with the fuel.

Lease Program Success VS Failure Guidelines

AUTHOR: Trucking101 - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 01, 2009

You know i have been driving for a while, No i am Not a Recruiter and yes i drive for England, and yes i am a lease operator. And i feel a successful one at that so let me see if i can clear a few things up for those interested in Leasing a Truck from ANY company and actually being successful.

When you get in your truck the Qualcomm Beeps saying you got a Message,

OK great its your first load.

Your going 300 Miles. England pays the truck 90 cents, minus 14 cent mileage, for 0.76 a mile. when you deliver that load you fill out the trip pak and send it in with the Bill of lading, fuel receipts, scale receipts etc. Now here is where it gets tricky.

The majority of drivers when they stop for fuel, fill there tanks clear full. Why?

Laziness and stupidity.

If your running 300 miles ONLY GET THE FUEL NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE TRIP!

If you fill your tanks clear full, most trucks have a fuel capacity of 150 gallons, so whats 150 times 1.25 a gallon? (England fuel cap program) 187.50 cents for fuel.

So if that trip is 300 miles at 0.76 cents a mile, you spend 187.50 cents for fuel you didn't need then your check at this point,= $40.50 cents. to many lease drivers ASSUME that the company is going to give them miles they need to break even. The industry fluxuates to much to depend on that, So why put yourself into debt before you even have the next load, remember you still have truck payments and other stuff to make.

Fuel is your biggest and 100% Controllable variable. If a truck gets 5 miles to the gallon, then you needed 60 gallons so your fuel would only be $75. so now almost $100 goes towards your break even and your less likely to be in the negative. The solo driver can run 3000 miles a week. England has the most miles but don't think your gonna get a load that totals 3000 miles some do some dont. Its usually little 300 here 500 here every now and then its 1200-1800. See if you overdo fuel every time how easy it is to end up in the red? Very easy.

Also try to stay away from advances. It is a loan against the miles your running. By all means if you can do without it- Do it. If not then do it, but understand it comes out of your pay- which means your in the negative before you even make the delivery, because you owe them now. Your allowed one every 5 days.

I am not going to go in depth if you want to know more let me know.

For the students:

There is a lot of Stories about there schools. Let me get you on track

1- its a business not a college, a college holds your hand- a business directs your hand, England is not here to baby you, its not special ed. They give you alot of time in the yard to do backing etc. If your one of those that's to lazy to get in the truck after hours and figure it out-- then go somewhere else. Because there available after end of class till i believe 1030 at night. that is a lot of time.

Driving the truck is not what makes a pro. being able to blindside a truck in pitch black between 2 peterbuilts 379's that are right on the lines is what makes it count- If you pay attention- you will be able to do this. Your over the road trainer will teach you to drive, the range teaches the basics in general. if the class was designed to make you a high speed super trucker then they wouldn't put you with a trainer would they?

2- There is alot of rumors about living conditions. Let me put it to you this way.

How many companies will pay YOUR way out to the company headquarters for training?
How many of them will put a roof over your head during your training?
How many of them will put food in your stomach while your in training?

Let me answer it for you. England is the only one-But they don't care.

As for a bus ticket to the school, yes they pay it. If you show up and are a waste of time- are you going to spend more money to send them back home? Put yourself in there position and answer the question. If you worked as a checker for wal-mart and got fired is the manager going to give you a ride home?

If you said yes then go somewhere else you won't make it in this industry.

As for living conditions. Ya the rooms smell like hell sometimes but so do the trucks the people drive that smell like hell, these are the ones with stuff all over the dash, clothes look like they haven't been washed in decades, ya you know the type. Want that to change? Spend more time leading by example and less time with your mouth, take a shower clean your laundry. Present a 'Professional image and presence'.

As for the food. Its actually alright. Its a full service restaurant. You have your choice between certain items like burgers and fries. if i remember right its a ticket with a dollar amount you can spend. Most of the students get a burger fries and drink. I seen Dan England pay for the hole class a couple of times. (this means they kept there ticket for later) BUT THEY DON'T CARE? come on know think outside the box a little.

as for all the myths about driver managers and stuff let me explain it to you.

1- driver manager- say 20 trucks.
(just so you know they have over 1000 driver managers and each has a Fleet. not 20 trucks- a fleet).

Take those 20 trucks rank them in order of RELIABILITY AND QUALITY. at the top is that go go driver. at the bottom is the one that says
"i dont want to go there so i refuse the load"
or
i want my home time so i refuse the load"

or my personal favorite.

I dont want that one i need more miles. so im refusing this one for a better one.

Chances are that guy at the top is getting those More miles. why?

Driver managers get paid based on loads delivered, safety etc. Remember Reliability?

If he cant rely on you to deliver those loads and support his own family what makes you think he is going to take the chance and send it to you to support yours? If you refuse a load does he make you sit there out of spite? ( cue the phone calls containing profanity, and disrespect. remember quality and professional image and presence? imagine that.) no its not spite you just get bumped to the bottom of that list of 20 and chances are you will be there for a while. so know he has to get all his other trucks set up and then find one for you. that could be the same day or 3 days or more depending on how the freight brokers are doing. you refused the load, so you don't get layover pay. (cue the responses from those who complained about that).

England is a good company, don't believe me? if they were such ripoffs how could they survive so long. Sure they probably have a few shady areas but what company doesn't even McDonald makes money off people. Imagine that a business that makes money- Off people. To sum it up for you

The is NOTHING good about the CR England lease program

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 08, 2006

The CR ENGLAND lease program is a scam. Only CRE will ever make money on this deal.

FYI All of that smoke they blow at you about you being in control, etc. is pure BS. And, you ARE NOT an owner operator as they tell you.

To be an owner operator, you must have your own authority. Period. As an owner operator YOU book your own loads. YOU dictate when you work, and what loads you take, etc.

You own or lease to own your equipment and operate it under someone elses authority, THEY have TOTAL legal control over "your" equipment. You have no control over anything.

They could legally park you for a month if they wanted to and there would be absolutely nothing you could do about it. That is the law.

You call them a good company???

AUTHOR: Susan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, December 07, 2006

C.R England is not a good company! They hire the crooks to work for them to make them money. And to steal your money. The owner's know what is going on and they allow it. How can you call them a good company after they riped you off and I know that you have read what other people have written about how they were riped off. C.R England is a company made up with liers and thieves.

As one other person wrote " old man England started a good company...then the brats took over ". It's too bad because there are some good thing's to be said about the company, but not enough because the bad way over weighs the good.

With all the people telling how bad they were done by this company I feel lucky that I was only a company driver. They got me bad enough without a lease. It's really too bad that people look-up and see this website after they get the screw job.
