I had posted a report about a few credit card companys. Cross Country was one of them. Anyway, someone replied to my post, and suggested that I go to Consumer Credit Counseling. I went for an appointment with them today. However, I was told that they couldn't help me, until I get another job.

When the lady at Consumers Credit and I were going over my bills, we happen to notice that Cross Country had sent me two letters for the month of March, with different balances on them. What stuck out about this is that one was dated March 13, 2001 and the other one was dated March 14, 2001. In other words they are increasing the balance owed on a daily basis.

If this is shady, and fraudulent business practices, I don't know what is. Something needs to be done about this company. So far they call me Monday through Sunday, every two hours, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. I've stopped answering the phone. Thank God for caller ID! Does anyone have any suggestions?

To the people happy with CCS and all others

AUTHOR: Alison - ()

POSTED: Friday, August 23, 2002

I'm glad all these people are happy with Cross Country Bank.

But I have something for everyone to think about.....

You better hope you never overpay on your account-they will "Write Off" your credit balance without any explanation and will not refund you this money.

Trust me, I know from experience-they have written off my credit balance and now I will have to sue to get this money back. They are refusing to return my money.

And it is my money. They have no legal right to write off my money-it is not theirs to write off as per The Fair Debt Collection Act.

Don't try and excuse your nasty behavior as policy.

AUTHOR: Susan - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, August 13, 2002

Cross Country is shady, criminal and should be put out of business. If you are being hounded by this company, please contact your attorney general in your state. Former employees, present employees etc. note - we are not interested in hearing your mind numbing responses for a company that is rude, obnoxious and down right nasty to its clients.

Without these clients, you wouldn't have your cushy job. The use of foul language, obscene statements and continous calling that leads to rude comments are not a part of your job and you should be ashamed to say that you work for a company that hounds you to accept the credit card, because of your credit history, and then turns on a dime when you miss a payment, call with questions or answer the phone.

Don't try and excuse your nasty behavior as policy. Having poor credit/no credit is no excuse for the unspeakable rude behavior of Cross Country Bank employees.

Happy Cardholder

AUTHOR: Michelle - ()

POSTED: Sunday, August 04, 2002

I just wanted to express my feelings on this subject. I have had my card going on a year and so far I have been treated with the utmost respect. I have never been overcharged, or had any sort of shady or unfair business practices with CCB. I am really happy with this company because it has helped me regain credit. Hopefully I will never have to go through any of these unfortunate problems. You people out there who are unfortunately dealing with these headaches take it easy and things will work out for you.

I also believe CCB has shady business practices

Rebuttal:

I also believe CCB has shady business practices. Just recently, in December of this year, for some reason not yet known, CCB changed my mailing address, without my consent to an address I had nine months previously. After doing so, obviously the statements stopped arriving and they started charging me tremendous late fees because I could not get a bill from them since after nine months a postal forwarding order had

expired. They started sending me emails telling me how to handle my account better, however they had pushed it over the credit limit with their late fees and then started charging over limit fees.

I called and was told by one of their customer service assistants (I use this term loosely, as their was no service), that the old address was what I gave them and they would not take any fees off, all of this was my fault and I had better get them paid. I wrote a letter to CCB but have not heard anything yet. I asked to speak to someone in charge but was told he

was busy and would not speak to me. I continue to receive calls daily and have also stopped answering my phone.

At this point it is my intention to contact the Attorney General for the state of Florida as well as the Better Business Bureau.

Just because someone has abused credit cards in the past should not mean that credit card companies should be permitted to commit fraud against these people every day.

I hate to burst any one's bubble, but ..

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Monday, December 31, 2001

They filed the following rebuttal to the above Rip-Off Report:

Their email: Wildfire02724@aol.com

Their name: Gary

Their relationship to the company: Consumer Suggestion

Rebuttal:

I hate to burst any one's bubble, but I've been a customer of C.C. Bank for several years. I admit that no company is perfect, though they tend to think they are, but I've never had a problem with this credit card company. I've had some one hack my AOL account to steal my credit card information and try to use it. C.C. Bank was there to respond promptly and not charge me for the fraudulent charges. I've found their service to

be up to par for me and I really like doing buisness with them.

I will say this. I do think their intrest rates could be lower,

and yes, if you're late on a payment much like any other creditor, they WILL hound you for their money. But I've found them to work with you on this so long as you work with them.

I also feel this way. I know from personal experiance that

cituations happen as to where you can't make a payment. I don't feel that they are any different from any other creditor. They want their money. I also feel like the commercial says, : Bill Consolidation Company X helped me get out of debt by consolidating my bills into one lump sum, reduce my intrest rates, even lowering my payments. I feel so sorry for that person with the $10,000 credit card debt. I think if the fool

wouldn't have ever charged up the $10,000 then he wouldn't have the problems he had. I think the commercial is a joke, but I think you get the point. Maybe not?

But I do believe their cycle date is around the middle of the

month, and they DO add intrest on to your ballance. Tell me of one credit card company that doesn't? I'm not here to defend any one. I'm just speeking my mind. I'm not even saying that I'm right. I do know that the best way to keep up with what you owe is to know what goes on in your account, contact them from time to time by phone or by the internet. Just remember. Snail mail is sjust that. That's why they provide online banking and a phone number.

the reason why the balance was different from 1 day to the next is because your cycle date is march13 this is the day that your stmt is mailed to you and any fees woud be billed to your acc, finance chrges, ol fees, lt fees etc.if you would read your cc aggreement, your application or listen to what that person was telling you when they called you, maybe you would understand.
