I've been in contact with Mr diffee the new owner of custom auto works on several on several occasions. Mr diffee did ask me if I would come down to work a couple days because his regular tinter would be out of town or cleaning up loose ends from a death in his family. however Mr Diffie did not have enough business to keep me busy at which time I told him I needed to get back to Huntsville to make some money. Mr Diffie agreed and said that he would mail me my check in the mail. after numerous threats and abusive language by Mr diffee concerning paying me. which I have every text on this telephone that I can show anybody. he is still yet to pay me and this is supposed to be a new business seller of custom Auto Works and the old appearance audio: car audio new owner. the kind of business this person's lack of ambition to pay anybody after services have been rendered definitely people need to not go there.......Lee L.

This is an update on my situation. MR. Diffee, and i have come to an agreement. I was probably A little pushy and not sensitive enough to Mr. Diffees view of the situation. And there may have been Some mis-communication between us. But after talking to Mr. Diffee weve come to an agreement on Payment and has been settled . He has shown a true business mans attitude and im sure that His staff as well as himself will go to great lengths togive customer satisfaction.

Job Interview Gone Wrong!

AUTHOR: Custom Autoworks - ()

POSTED: Thursday, February 06, 2014

Hi, I would like to take a moment and explain the TRUE story. I have been in this industry for the last 5 years. I have had several employees and countless customers but I have never had to deal with this type of review. I placed an ad on Craigslist looking for a new window tinter as my current installer plans to move out of state. Lee responded to the ad and said he was interested. We agreed that he could come tint for a few days on a trial basis. This is not normal but I also agreed to pay him $75 per day if his commission did not exceed that amount.

I usually do not pay an applicant to show me what they can do but I felt confident that this man was a skilled tinter. The day he came we were rather slow, it was a Monday. He tinted 2 windows on 2 different vehicles. His commission for the day was less than the $75 so I agreed to pay that amount. I also had asked him to take off some vinyl that was on the front windows of the store. He only took off half before leaving. Later that night he texts me and tells me that he will not be coming back the following day, as we had agreed.

He had also scheduled appoinments for the following day, which he would now not be there to complete. He basically scheduled appts then left me high and dry, as my current installer was out of town. Technically there is nothing legally wrong with this behavior but we all know its morally wrong. Anyways no big deal, lets move on. The day that I am preparing payroll one of the 2 cars he tinted came back with bubbled up tint and asked us to warranty our work, which of course we did. We offer a lifetime warranty on all our window tint installs.

This is how the warranty works as far as payment to the installer: if a customer comes back with an issue then the installer is responsible for redoing the work and I, as the owner, am responsible for providing the film. This man was no longer here to correct the issue. I had to pay my current installer, not only to redo the tint, but also to strip off the old that Lee had installed. I had to pay my currrent installer because he was not the one who originally performed the job. As soon as this customer came back in for the warranty work mentioned, I sent Lee a picture of the car back in our bay and a detailed description explaining why I did not believe it was fair for me to pay him any longer.

Keep in mind this man was not an employee, he was here for a job interview to see if things would work out. Once I sent him the picture and told him I would not be paying him for his services, he began attacking me, calling me names, and basically threatening me. I stopped communicating with him at that pont and told him if he continued to harass me I would press charges in a court of law. I honestly wish I had just sent the $75 check anyways and maybe would not be sitting here after hours responding to this.

This is all very normal procedure and should have been easy to understand by someone that has supposedly been tinting for 20+ years. I truly hope this will not discourage anyone from becoming a customer and giving us a chance. I promise we only need the first chance and you will know what type of business we run. I can not believe people are aloud to make these type of accusations without first proving themselves and their story. This is the type of thing that can ruin a business and for that very reason I will be pursuing legal action against this man.
