I recently picked up an antibiotic that my doctor prescribed. After being told to finish the whole bottle and warned that drinking alcohol would lead to violent vomiting, i strolled home. Upon getting home, I just so happened to count the tablets.
Low and behold i was 2 tablets short of what had been prescribed.
I typically don't double check what the pharmacy gives me. I mean you see them on the evening news with their little scoopers and you just assume they've double checked.
When I returned to the pharmacy to show the mistake, the pharmacist simply took it out back and added 2 more tablets to my bottle. I can't help but imagine how many times this is done without the consumer knowing.
My other concern is that I might have still had my infection and not known why. How many other people are getting jipped?!

i have been shorted several times for one particullar medication, a pain med. But its funny that I have never been shorted on any other type of medication. And if it is human error why doesnt the pharmacy own up to it and give what is missing??

This sort of thing happens every once in a while, where either a customer is shorted or given 1 or 2 extra. Human count a lot of these prescriptions, and even with machines there can be errors, its just a fact of life that mistakes happen. I hope the experience wasn't too inconvenient for you.
