Daniel Kidwell / Big Dawg Ventures, Inc. Contracted to Build Deck, Took my Money and Ran! Eagle Mountain Utah

We contracted with this individual to build a deck onto our existing home. He seemed very nice and knowledgable at first. He told us he was licensed but we later discovered that he uses someone elses license to pull his permits. He asked for 50% deposit which we gave him. Then after he had finished the framing he asked for another 25% to purchase the Trex for the deck. Then he stopped answering our calls, after locating another phone number to contact him, he had us spend the remaining contract amount on materials that he said he would install and we would be finished. The deck is still incomplete after almost 4 months. And we are finding out that the material he used was not Trex and the deck is not up to code. We are now filing a small claims case against him and the company that allowed him to use their contractor license, WK Construction located in Syracuse, UT.
