Fast forward to the present.

His restaurant went under and he now works for De La Cruz Bistro right down the street from where his bistro was located. The problem is the same, except a different victim - my fiance. She worked 40 hours a week at minimum wage ($7.25 per hour), for at least a month between the end of August and the end of September. She earned over a thousand dollars in wages, not including the tips she earned. She worked there part-time after that month up until late November. She was paid a total of four times for the time she worked there, each check being on average in between $120 and $230. Now, if you do the math 230 x 4 does NOT equal her August & September earnings, nor does it equal the wages she earned after that month up until November.

In short, do NOT work for De La Cruz Bistro, also do NOT eat there or order their catering services. They owe her (and the other employees) over a thousand dollars in backdue wages and are fairly adamant about NEVER paying her for her time. She has confronted them several times about her lack of wages and their typical answer was "oh well, we will pay you tomorrow." Tomorrow came and went over a month ago and she is still out of her money.
