My father is a victim of Debt Settlement USA is now on the verge of bankruptcy and losing his home. His story is the same as those who had been defrauded by DSUSA. He paid them $697.83/month for 8 months and they had never even contacted a creditor to "negotiate" his debt. No wonder- because out of the $697.83 he paid, they take out $542.75 as their fee!

I am now in the process of filing a complaint with the Attorney General of Arizona on my father's behalf. I urge all of you who are also victims of Debt Settlement USA to file with the Attorney General's office http://www.azag.gov/consumer/complaintformintro.html. Hopefully, with enough complaints the state of Arizona will bring Debt Settlement USA to justice.

Yes they collect thier fees up front, that was in your contract, did you bother to read it.

You have to make your payments if you want the program to work. Great file a complaint with the AG because you didnt' read your contract.

The problem with the Debt Settlement industry is people like you who don't know what they are getting into.

Now you will file a complaint, the industry will be regulated by the government and many will lose out on the Benefit of Debt Settlement.

You need to have your government take care of you because you can't take of yourself. Good Job, you father will be proud he raised a daughter like you.

Way to go Lady.

STop complaining and read your contract.

Fee Information

The clients of Debt Settlement USA are told upfront how much the company fee is and the amount you will be saving in an account. All together it adds up to the total amount that the client is supposed to be putting into a bank account every month. When there is enough saved up, under the clients amount, they then contact the creditors and try and work out a settlement with them. You have to have a decent amount though in your account for the settlement to take place.
