Dedicated Repo Services - Allen R. Friend A Company That Lies!!!! Coral Springs Florida

I was appauled when I read this. This is not the first time I have heard negative things about this company. It looks like they are not looked upon favorably by the BBB.

Granted, a repo man has a job to do. They desearve to eat and make a living like anyone else. They do not have to go and rip people off. Tell them property is there and charge them and then not deliver.

I applaud the author of this post for speaking out. A lot of people just back down. I love it when people in that position try to bully people too.

Be a sensible business man and just refund this guys money. Don't be a scumbag. Someone in your organization took this mans property and it was uncovered. Move on....give this guy his money back.

And just in case the owner of this company does not read this board, I will be a man and also write to each and every address that was listed as well.

I represent a few handicapped groups and will also have them each write a letter to each and ever address that was reported as well.

It's ashame that people are willing to tarnish their records for something so stupid.

How hard is it going to be to get jobs from companies that look up your rating on the BBB website and see a C rating?

Do the right thing man. You proved your point, you proved that you are a big man and can take a guy's money and let your employees steal from them at the same time.

Here is the report I promissed if Mr. Friend did not call or try to resolve this. If you fell victim to Mr. Friend's company, please take whatever steps you deem are necessary to get resolution.

To all who are taking the time out of their day to read this:

My wife's vehicle was repossessed by the dealer due to the economic hardship our country is facing. Am I mad that the company had the car repossessed? No. Just a part of life. I did have some personal property inside the car and was given the name of the repo company that had come to get the car which was Dedicated Repo Services who has an office out of Margate, FL and owned by Allen R Friend.

The corporation is listed at 7316 NW 38 Court
Coral Springs, FL 33065. A phone number was listed online as 954-553-1047 and the office phone number is 954-984-8344.

The most important item in the car was my handicapped placard for parking. I am in possession of one for quite a few medical reasons. When I called and said that I had certain items in the car, but the most important item was my placard, they told me it would cost $100. Even if I were to just get my placard.

If we had a hard time with car payments due to the economy, how could I afford the $100?

I called and spoke to the lady who answers the phone and works at the front office. I asked if they still had my possessions and most importantly my placard. A week went by and did not receive a call back. I called again and was promised a call back, I never received one. I called back and asked to describe my property. I told her a fold up chair, golf clubs, license plate, HANDICAPPED PLACARD, school books, hockey jersey to name a few. Still, no call back so I placed another call and was told they had my property there.

I came with my wife since they needed her ID. We get there and then were first told they needed the $100 in cash. I had to get back into my car and find my bank. We come back, pay the $100 in cash and were shown our property which was in 2 boxes., not stored in their trailer that they charge for storage, but in the office right next to the front desk. I emptied its contents and my Handicapped Placard was not present.

Now under Florida law, the repo company MAY not MUST collect money I believe up to $200 for storage. They do not have to though. I informed them that the 1 main item I was coming for was not there. I was asked to look again to no avail. I then requested a list of names of everyone who had touched my vehicle or came into contact of which they did not want to give me. The lady from the office said she would call the auction place to see if it were there. I called later on and was told it was not there, but they were checking something else. I also did inform them that my cell phone chargers were not there too. I was going to charge up my phone.

I had called the office on Friday night and gave the owner, Mr. Friend until Saturday at 3pm before I would publish this letter publicly in order to give him a chance to make it right. It is now Sunday and have not heard back from him. Just in case the office was not open I extended the deadline until Monday afternoon.

Mr. Friend did call me and became quite irate on the phone and started using profanity. He was worried about his family's safety since he is the one who listed his corporation with his home address and it is public knowledge for anyone to find. He tells me it is not the $100, but the principle of the matter. What I find amazing is that he is afraid for the safety of his family, but it is not worth refunding me my $100. Must be real afraid. What I would be more worried about if this were my business, I would be upset and mad knowing I have a thief working for me.

What do I want back? I want my $100 back that was not legally REQUIRED to be collected. My intentions on what I was looking for was very clear on the phone. Not only do they have no compassion for a fellow neighbor that is struggling like everyone else down here, but for the handicapped. I even told them that I had to park far away from places I needed to go and was just about out of commission by the time I reach the door and they DID NOT CARE.
Mr. Friend tells me I can just go get a new one. I should take the time out of my work day to stand in line somewhere to get a new one.

Also, now that I had paid that $100, I have had to cancel every one of my medical appointments for this month and my medicine that I take on a daily basis. All because of a GREEDY business owner who legally MAY collect money on a repo instead of doing something humanly like knock on the door and maybe ask for the key and could have stopped all of this by letting me get my belongings.

I am asking each and every one of you, whether a friend or just someone reading this to call this business and voice your opinion if you think that this greed is wrong during these times. If it is okay to extort money from someone who has to cancel medical appointments to retrieve property that was said to have been there and was not.

Allen Friend threatened me with an attorney's name. When I asked for his attorney's name and number, he gave a name, but I couldn't find it online. I asked for the number and he couldn't get it or know it, but said he will have his attorney call me. I asked Mr. Friend how to spell the attorney's last name and was told I can ask when he calls me back. Mr. Friend asked how does this go away? Do the right thing and return my $100 in cash to me. Mr. Friend said come to my office on my turf to discuss this man to man.

I also did a search on whitepages.com and saw another listing, but could not be for sure if it is his.

After all is said and done, I have no problem with the repo. I have a problem with the way things were handled once the vehicle was in the repo yard and I wanted to retrieve my personal possessions. I also have a problem with Allen Friend's Volga language and unbusiness like attitude.
