Delbert Deel Took the money and ran, took advantage of our family, and lied! Ripoff! Tempe Arizona

Delbert was hired to landscape our yard at the end of September. He was paid to plant trees and shrubs. After many weeks he eventually got most of them planted, with the exception of a few plants.

He assured us that they would be guaranteed for 6 months if we hired him to do the irrigation also. We agreed and then wrote Delbert another check for the irrigation.

This check was cashed shortly after it was written and that is when most of the problems began. We called him daily asking when he would begin the irrigation because the trees and shrubs needed watering. He once again assured us that he would have someone out "tomorrow" to get started.

This vicious cycle went on for weeks. We would call and leave a message for him to call us back. In the beginning he would call back with an excuse, "my truck broke down", "death in the family", etc. You name it, he used it!

His excuses got old quick, and so did watering our 60+ shrubs by hand every day. We finally decided that we wanted a refund and we would hire a company that could complete the work in a timely manner. We called him and he told us that he would refund the money, but we would have to sign a waiver saying that we agreed to not have the work completed. Ha, Ha! What a joke!

He promised to meet us to deliver half the cash, because it was the weekend and his bank would only let him withdrawl a certain amount at a time. He told us he would give us the rest by Monday. When we tried calling him to meet, he didn't answer his phone. And here we are over a month later and broke.

I tried being nice about the situation, I have bills to pay and a new baby. I don't have money to throw away. But now I am mad and will do what it takes to recieve a refund and let others know about Delbert Deel. He is not a nice person.

Research, research, research, on who you hire to landscape your yard. Just because they own a truck with a shovel in the back, doesn't mean they are qualified to do the job.
