Dear Ripoff Report readers-This isnt about a ripoff,it is a report on VERY poor customer service and lack of loyalty on Dells part.So i ask you to indulge me on this i would appreciate it.

I am posting this report because i cant talk any sense into the people at Dell and if I wrote a letter to Michael Dell ,he probably would never see it.

In the last 5 years i have purchased the following:

3-desktop computers.
3- laptop computers
1-laser printer
1-photo printer
3-inkjets
1-Dell lcd flat screen tv
2-Dell djs
3- dell dittys
printer and laser cartridges

I have had a Dell preferred account with a credit line of $4000.00.I have always paid MORE than the minimum every month and I have paid it off several times over the past few years.I now have a balance of approx.$2100.00.My account is current. However, back in November my account had went 60 days due to my business dropping off ,but i got it caught back up quickly,i even called them and told them what was going on and they "noted" the account.I told them, and they agreed that i had always paid on time and always WAY more than the minimum,as i dont particulairly like their interest rate or late charges. However ,I never complained.

The other day i went online to order a New xps Laptop with a price of about a $1000.00.I still would have been way below my credit limit.I went to check out and my order was declined.I then called Dell to find out what the problem was and they told me that is was because of the account being late last year.My account was frozen.
They would not listen to reason, and they certainly did not care how long i have been a customer of theirs. So ,needless to say i was and still am ,PISSED.

Whats amusing about this is we read about how bad Dell is hurting for business and they treat a customer like me this way. They need to look at each case individually before just cutting a customer off. Also I have never recieved notification of the account freeze,i pay my account online, there is nothing on there that says my account is frozen.

There is alot of complaints like this on here about Dell and they just dont care.Well i can tell you that i will NEVER purchase another thing from Dell again because i have been very loyal to them and they have treated me and others very badly. So i think im gonna buy an Apple!!!!GOOD LUCK DELL !!!!

Unfortunately any company who offers you credit, reserves the right to freeze your account if your past due. Especially a company who can't "seize" the merchandise if you don't pay. I work for Dell, and I can tell you from first hand experience, that I have never seen them permanently freeze an account for 2 late payments. Are you sure that's all it was? Typically they freeze your account until it is caught up (to keep you from purchasing anything until you make your payment).

Sometimes, if you haven't actually used the account in several years, they will close it due to inactivity (because, as you know, your credit rating is always changing).
