I called DEMANDFORCE’s Customer Care and let them know that I wish to cancel my account with them. I provided them with my name, account number, and contact information. They ensured me that they would cancel the plan before the renewal date but that they could not do it at the moment. Some time went by and it was not until June 4th when I remembered that I had never received any type of confirmation from them. That same day I called their Customer Care and asked for confirmation that my account had indeed been cancelled. They then informed me that cancellation is death with by the billing department and that all i would have to do is send them a written request confirming my cancellation over the phone. I immediately sent the email formally requesting cancellation of their services just as they told me to do. I heard nothing back from them via phone or email so on June 13th I called again and asked why I did not receive a cancellation notice. They apologized and told me that they would take care of it while we were on the phone. They told me that a technician named Jason would call me to physically cancel the connection but that they had already done it via their records. Later that afternoon Jason called me and tried to convince me to not cancel my account with high pressure sales tactics.

After 20 minutes of back and forth he finally agreed to cancel my account. Shortly thereafter he called me back and told me that he was mistaken and that he cannot cancel my account because my written notice was not received until June 4th and therefore my plan was renewed. I tried to explain to him that I canceled before that date over the phone and was unaware that a written notice was required until June 4th at which time I sent said notice. He said that there was nothing he could do and that I would have to pay for another year of their service regardless of the miscommunication and the fact that they told me my account had already been canceled on three previous occasions. I now have no other option but to dispute this charge and hope that American Express will stop these Ripoff artists from forcing another customer into a renewal.
