Free Trial vs Free Sample

Unfortunately you did authorize the charges.
If you accept an offer for a “Free Trial” just pay shipping and handling, you are accepting the product for a trial period (usually 14 days FROM order). If you do not cancel in accordance with their directions, you are authorizing them to subscribe you to a monthly shipment of their product(s). Two weeks after your original order they will debit the full price of their product(s) from your account. You will not be able to dispute this charge with your bank because you authorized it by accepting their offer.
You need to look for products that have a “Free Sample” offer to expect paying a small shipping & handling charge and NO recurring charge for the product.
If you have accepted the “Free Trial” and been hit with the full cost of the product(s), it is NOT a ripoff. It's just that you didn't listen/read the details of the offer completely.
