DEZERTNATION Robert Anderson- Owner Stolen parts and money paid for wok not done. Disappered overnight Laguna Niguel, California

I found a project car for sale online, local to me. It was offered by Rob the owner of dezertnation offroad fabricators in laguna Niguel. Local to me, so I contaced him and went to check it out. I purchased the car on or about 12/10/10.  

We discussed the further fabrication needed to complete the car, and I contracted with robert to do the work. I paid $1000 up front for this. The car also needed and additional $2k or so in parts, which I purchased through them.

The engine was supposed to be complete, but turned out needing new heaes among other things, and immediatly cost me another $800+ dollars at my mechanic (I've used for over a decade), inc. all the parts it was missing.

Robert gave me a time frame of 1-2 weeks to complete their work, which inc. front caging, roof rack, rear cage, etc. . Nothing seemed to be moving ahead  as I checked in with them every few days either on the phone or physically stopping by their shop.

At 6 weeks I started getting the feeling there was something not quite right going on, and told rob they needed to wrap up the work on the car, and he assured me they would. On the phone I kept being told progress was being made, yet when I would stop by, NO progress.

For the next 3 weeks I was given "it'll be done fri." "Monday", next mon." "should be wrapped up by wed." and on and on. Well, I stopped by last  fri. 2/4/11, and still no progress. keep in mind that they were actively working on other cars and trucks this whole time.

I was promised that they would finish it up over the weekend, and deliver it to my shop early this week. monday comes and goes. I call yesterday, tues. 2/8/11, and the phone is diconnected. Called robs cell, also disconnected.

I make a trip to their shop late afternoon, and my car is sitting out in the alley, with a partially finished (maybe 20%?) roof rack thrown on top. Back of the shop is locked, so I go around front and find the whole place empty, stripped, no inventory... Vacant.

All the parts included with the purchase of the car missing. Parts I purchased through them missing. Seats, harnesses, lights... basically everything except the shell shoved out back for me to find and or get towed by the property owners.

Robert Anderson, the owner ripped me for the money paid for non-completed work, the parts that came with the car as well as additional parts I purchased... also parts promised included in the purchase, but obviously never provided.

He also had me do tint work (my trade) on some of his customers cars, which remain unpaid. all told he's taken a few thousand of my money. Smiled in my face fri., and disappeared over the weekend. He is an outright thief, not to be trusted (if found).

I will be getting the police involved in this theft and fraud perpatrated on my Robert Anderson through his company, DEZERTNATION.Com . What makes this especially bad is this car is a father/daughter project, and some of the $$ lost was hers. He knew this as well.

What a lowlife piece of work. That goes for his employees as too... they obviously knew what was up as well. I hope to at least get our parts returned, but I doubt it. I'll be suing him in court (if he can be found to serve papers on)... even if I win a judgement, highly unlikely I'll ever see a dime.

I can't stand liars and thieves, and this guy is both. I was told by the neighboring shop owners that I'm not the only person to show up looking for him yesterday. I wonder who else he ripped off?. This whole situation that he pulled on me really stinks.
