Dish Network ripoff, rude, LIARS, lazy, won't return calls, bait and switch on a DVR. Denver Colorado

Hello all. Hopefully you are all reading this before you fall prey to these con artists. My wife decided she wanted sattelite tv a few years ago and had the misfortune of being given a dish network reciever. It looses signal every time the weather changes and has generally been a pain.

At any rate, my wife has been wanting a DVR for quite a while so she can watch one program while recording one or two others. When she called, she specifically, and repeatedly asked about this. She was told that the model she would receive would in fact do just that.

It didn't, and won't. It even says it will in the manual, but the manual covers several different models. When she called and wanted to return the unit, because it wouldn't do what she wanted, she was told that this was "impossible". The female (Erica, whom I refuse to call her a woman) was so rude to my wife over the matter that my wife actually cried over it.

This is when I got involved. I called and talked to numerous people who all said the same thing, each time I requested to be connected to the executive office. Each time, I was transfered to another "supervisor", and was hung up on several times.

Finally I got a hold of Denita Walker (sp?) at Executive care, who said she would cancel the contract and refund our 50$, and arrange for an appology to my wife from "Erica" if we would ship the unit back. I was also promised that she investigate whether a unit capable of doing what my wife wants is available and contact us about pricing This has been over a week ago, and I have made NUMEROUS phone calls to this woman without a single return phone call. 90% of the times I have called, her voicemail won't even let me leave a message because it is full. We have put a block on all further payments through our bank, to prevent them from charging us any more money.

At this point, as soon as we are credited our money back we are going with another provider.

Dish Network is a rippoff, and their employees are largely ignorant of their own products, dishonest, and abusive. We will no longer do buisness with them, and I ecourage all those who read this to do the same.
