I was told that I had one free move a year.  When I contacted them tonight at 800-333-3474 I was first told that because I was only a member for 1 month it would cost $100.00 to move, then when I asked to speak to  supervisor operator 969 told me that it was because I was not signed up for 1 year.  I explained that I was not told that, I was told one free move a year.  I was transferred to supervisor Cheryl and she also told me after a year it was free. I explained that is not what I was told and I said why would I agree to that, I only had a 6 month lease?  That is when she offered to move me for $50.00 dollars and I said no, you will provide it for free as that is what I was told.  She told me she did not have access to notes and this was the best she could do.  I asked to speak to another supervisor and was given the feedback@customermaildishnetwork.com to voice my complaint and she then told me that they do respond to that.  I also told her that I am locked into a 2 year contract with them and now they are holding me over a barrel with the move.  I feel that this is essentially a breach of contract and it should be considered voided.

I am not late on my bill!

AUTHOR: Sue Kraft - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, August 27, 2013

I resent that you are implying that I would not get the free move if I were late on my bill payment!  I have automatic deduction on my account that take it out the 20th of every month.  I am new to the service since May of this year, however, that is not what I was told and that is  not what your commercials suggest!  And while I am at it, did not need to make a security deposit in order to get your service!

Now, I have the fact that that they were not ready to move my broadband the day that they came to set up my service for TV and the child that was here tried to talk me out of it...I wished I had listened to him.  He also put the dish way up on my roof higher than he pointed out on the chart and I am just waiting for the leak in my roof to start.  But while he was here, I also talked to him about setting up the rest of my TV's in my house for either another reciever or mirroring another TV.  He told me that it was $7.00 per month for another receiver or $7 one time to mirror it.  I decided to mirror it.

When I called Dish the same night to talk about broadband was told I should stick to the same $49.99 package I had, but if I found that it didn't work for me, I could upgrade to the $69.99 package.  I said ok.  Then I was told it would be another $50.00 to come out and set up the rest of the TV's and not the $7.00.  What?  I was done!  I tried to cancel it all....it was worth it not to have to pay it each month!  But...I relented.

Then to find out five (5) days into my new connection I  had already used up all of my broadban connection and I could buy
tokens to get more, that lasted all of 5 minutes of my husband surfing and my using facebook for an additional $10.00 bucks.  So I called and tried to upgrade only to be told that it wasn't available to me????

#2 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Former Employee who fell victim to the same thing

AUTHOR: ChickyRicky - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, August 27, 2013

I'd like to comment on this report.  I worked for Dish at the Headquarter office for 11 months.  I too was subject to this same mishap, while still employed.  I had relocated to a new home and was notified that I would qualify for 1 free move.  I had also seen several commercials for the 1 free move.  I called to relocate my service and was notified that it's 100.00 that will be charged for the services.  I notified the CSC about the commercials and the previous notification of the free move and was told that my account did not qualify, not because of any of the outlined policies above, but because I was an employee.  I found this to be astonishing because I was also notified by my manager that she had her service moved to her new home for free after being with Dish for merely 2 months.  Dish does have many fraudulant things about the company and no matter how much you list on websites, Glassdoor or anything else, you will not see any actions.  Be weary of their products, services and bold face lies that their staff will tell you in order to get your business.  The management does the same thing to their employees.  Most departments are great and the executives are very professional, but the lower level management are harsh on their employees and lie to them constantly.  If they are willing to do that to their employees, can you imagine what they do to their customers?  I'm not disgruntled, so if that's throw our there it's a bunch of BS.  I would work for Dish again in a heartbeat, AS long as it's not for the same management staff who are brutal to their employees and treat them as cattle.  Oh, and don't think that if you escalate it, it will go anywhere....upper executives won't get your information or complaint because lower management will trash it!

#1 UPDATE Employee

Mover's fee

AUTHOR: Kimesco_DISH - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, July 24, 2013

I can certainly understand how frustrating this must be for you. The fee for relocating your services only applies to certain accounts. Most accounts are eligible for a free move. You would only be inelgible if you have a prepaid account, excessive late payments, have had services less than 1 year or have moved in the last 12 months.  I will be more than happy to address this further please email me for assistance at: kimberly.escobar@dish.com
