I called to cancel service as we were never satisfied and no longer wanted. We had initially tried to cancel the service on 2-11-05. (That's another story that we should have pursued at that time.)

After being passed from representative to representative who offered deals, high pressure sales pitches, was forward to a third party who stated that we had to box up equipment, etc, and mail back to them with the labels that would be sent in the mail. She rambeled about if the items were not sent back that we would be charged for the equipment. Then she, seemingly without taking a breath, began a speech about our being charged 140.00 to cancel early.

When I advised that we had spoken to a representative back on 2/11/05, when we initially tried to cancel the serice, and I had the paperwork in front of me, that the contract had been changed to a one year contract and we were to receive one month free. She rudely said no, I was wrong and that the representative had given us one month free to see if we wanted the service. (Does that make sense? - we already knew we didn't want the service.)

I again told her that she was wrong. She told me to read the contract and to look at my signature, after saying not to yell at her. I told her first of all my name wasn't on anything and I was looking at the notes we took. She said my husband misinformed me. I told her that they were not going to do us this way and not to bill me for anything. She said we'd be sued, and had to pay.

I asked to speak to a supervisor and she told me that there wasn't one and she was a senior specialist. I again requested to speak to a supervisor/her supervisor and she refused and immediately began talking about the bill again. I hung up on her.

I have filed with the Better Business Bureau.

Also, we never did get the "free" VCR that we were supposed to get after 90 days. They cancelled Lifetime and constantly flashed bulletins on the substitute WE channel.

There service is crappy. Don't let it rain, or have severe weather in the area, because you are going to loose service/reception.

I believe this company's practices are deceptive, threatening, and deceptive.

#2 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Ex Employee Digital Dish Inc. responding

AUTHOR: Brian - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 13, 2006

Your Complaint is common.... You should have contacted Dish Network instead of going through them. Not sure about the free VCR, usually people get promised free airline fair to there choice of destination. However, I know its no joke to you as a victim. If you keep the service for longer than 90 days, then Digital Dish Inc is no longer responsible. Within 90 days I believe Dish Network back charges them.

However, Digital Dish would be responsible for un-installing your equipment. So they had to pay one of there techies to install it..then turn around and pay a techie to un-install it in addition to the back charge. They would loose money. Better to threaten consumer and blow them off till the 90 days have passed. After that you are Dish Networks problem. Call Dish Network and explain problem...Hope this post helped.

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Digital Dish Inc Represents Dish Network unfairly

AUTHOR: Brian - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 13, 2006

As an Ex employee I would recomend you contact Dish Network..Here is a short cut number to get you in (888) 233-3474 less than a min hold time...Technicians use it to activate recievers. Digital Dish Inc technicians are told to get the install in no matter what has been promised to the consumer..Why? Digital Dish Inc is a regional service provider for Dish Network and gets paid to do the installs. As a former tech. we were educated that you let the customer know that if they were not happy with the install, then they can cancel within 30 days.

However, I have never done a De-install and yes the technician does use your existing wiring so the cable company will charge you for setting it back to the way it was. Also, if the tech could activate the reciever before even attempting an install or aquiring a sat signal then Digital Dish inc. would also get paid..That Defrauding Dish Network. I have even witnessed customer contracts forgery by managers that the customer has never seen committing them to 2 year contracts. There are so many dis-honest issues with this company there isn't enough space here to post them all. However, with inside knowledge about this company I can tell you that Digital Dish Inc. is not only ripping off the customer but Dish Network also..

I hope you got that Free Vacation, or all them Local stations that were promised to you. This is not Dish Network but a company that represents Dish Network. If you feel you been ripped off, call Dish at the above number and ask for its fraud department or its resolution department. Chances are that contract you signed may not be the one that was submitted..PS..Other ex employees reading this post can probebly add to this as well. It was common knowledge and we were trained on how to get around the customer and Dish Network. I hope this helps and I would be more than happy to reply to any inquires.
