After meeting, hearing, & getting to talk with Charles Ergen in the '80s, I became a DISH dealer because I liked (agreed with) his and his company's values, integrity, & business practices.

I have had a subscription to DISH programming since DISH launched - started rebroadcasting programming. I prepay for programming one (1) year in advance. Due to the economy (my disposable income), I've only subscribed to the 'local networks' (used to be Nashville, TN, now it's Louisville, KY).

On April, 26, 2010 the DISH customer service rep I spoke with stated my annual cost for 'local networks' with two (2) DISH receivers would be $125.63 which I sent via check. My check was cashed by DISH on 05/01/2010 via Bank of America in Atlanta, GA.

According to the customer service rep, my prepaid subscription would end May 1, 2011. I received a bill / invoice dated 01/20/2011 asserting I already owe $6.06.

When I contacted DISH customer service the senior customer service rep, 'explained' that DISH changed their policy / billing and started charging an "access fee" for customers who only subscribed to 'local networks' and that even though DISH advertises charges for prepaid subscriptions do not (will NOT) change during the prepaid period, since DISH asserts 'local networks' are NOT pre-paid programming the 'no price increase' promise does not apply!

I was on the phone for fifty-three (53) minutes. To make matters worse, the customer service rep, HUNG UP while transferring me to a senior staff person. I conclude the call was terminated (hang up) because no one called me back, which if I was disconnected, the senior staff person would surely have done.

After being disconnected (hung up) I contacted DISH via e-mail since I didn't have time to wait on hold and start all over again. DISH has NOT even had the courtesy to respond to my e-mail!

I have been cheated out of - deprived of over two months of programming that I pre paid for!
