District Furniture - Ford City Furniture Deceptive Practice ripped off $1500.00 and still ripping off consumers Chicago Illinois

On January 5, 2004 I went into a furniture store that was called District Furniture at the time. I put furniture in the layaway with a cash deposit of $525.00. On Feb 20th, I paid the balance of $985.00 a total of $1510.00. The manager Zak Suleiman promised the furniture would be delivered on Feb 28th. Of course he called on March 1st stating that the furniture was damaged and I would receive it on March 9th, then promised March 10th, He told me the furniture was on the truck and it would be at my house definitely on March 10th.

We waited until 10:00pm no furniture ever came. Why did he lie? On March 11th, my husband went to the location only to find a sign on the door stating that there were problems with their license. The note on the door stated that they would re-open on March 25th. I went to the location on March 23rd and they were open. Again, I was promised a date of March 27th for delivery he even called my job to assure the furniture would be there.

Again, we waited all day and all night, no furniture. I filed police reports and other reports and so did a lot of other consumers that were waiting outside the door of the furniture store. The problem is that they are still open and taking consumers money but giving no furniture and nothing is being done. Can someone help us?????
