Sam said,
When you purchase DLGuard, you get access to upgrades and support from 1 year from your date of purchase.
he admitted to not giving out upgrades but now is trying to pass out a patch as a upgrade, upgrades and patches are not the same thing.

he stated on this page http://guardhq.com/news/?cat=2 >This release is mostly due to a couple of issues.
his page it's mostly a patch, point me out the New Features that is a upgrade, if that page had more upgrade New Features then yes i could understand it as a upgrade because most software some times do upgrades and patches at the same time
but LOOK and you tell me, the page does not Lie it's mostly a patch, you need to know the different between a patch and a upgrade,, most of your patches are listed under (new features) thats where the upgrade new stuff should be not the patch.

do you see access to 1 year support here on his buy page?
http://www.dlguard.com/dlginfo/pricing.php
LOOK at the page and you tell me.

now that my 1 year expired he won't help me and trying to get help from some one else is about imposable because he design the software, now i am the one getting complaints from my customers because HIS software is causing problems.

would you call it bait and switch when you find out a year later he is wanting to charge you for help, in other words if he can't help you then you might not find the help you need from some one else.

if you do a search on sam you will see a LOT of his post giving the wrong impression because he claims hes going to do this and that and if you added up on all what he plains and does compared to what he really does you will understand this is another so called sales tatic.

if you bought the software or renewed and you did not get upgrade access then he charging you for some thing you didn't get.
if you got access to a patch then you did not get access to a upgrade then he charging you for some thing you didn't get.
if your paying for access and there is none then what are you paying for?

is he just maintaining his software or really doing some thing with it by upgrading it?

he wrote the link pages above and shows proof of what hes been doing and if you want to buy from a software company like that then think twice.
i would not really call 1 person a company because trying to get help from him can be very difficult.

on one of my support ticket that took 5 days he wanted a receipt number and on the same ticket earlier i all ready gave him my receipt number, i have proof.

on a later ticket he told me my 1 year expired and how would he know that if he did not have my receipt number?
i have proof.

on another problem, i lost my admin password and could not get it back because how he design the software
so if my 1 year expired then he would charge me to get my admin password back because only HE can get it back.

i would recommend if your new not to buy his product until he can fix his own mistakes, i would recommend if your previous customer not to renew until he can fix his own mistakes.

he needs to come out with a public apology and all so give you your upgrade and not a patch.
and he needs to clean up his misleading act along with his misleading links.

this is unprofessional and not respected.

if he cant follow threw then file a complaint threw ripoff reports or post your reviews on other website if you feel you been taken advantage of.

i posted poof about him and he has not yet showed me proof where i may be wrong.

far as i can see he threatening to tamper with my prepaid account

Reply from Sam Stephens, owner of DLGuard

AUTHOR: DLGuard - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, December 15, 2011

Hi,

My name is Sam Stephens, the owner and developer of DLGuard.

When Gary came to me over a year ago and told me about his current situation and asked for quite a substantial discount off the price of DLGuard, I felt sorry for him and gave him the largest discount I've ever offered on DLGuard.

Since then Gary has often publically questioned my software development priorities in the DLGuard forum, even using personal attacks towards me and other members of my forum.

At one point I created several custom updates to DLGuard for Gary, totally free of charge, and installed them onto his website, again free of charge. This is something Gary never mentions.

I'm currently doing a huge overhaul of the DLGuard system in preperation for some very large feature updates. During this time, it meant that a small number of clients didn't have access to a new update during their year or upgrades and support.

While there are no offical policies on this, as a gesture of goodwill I've offered clients who didn't get an update during that time free access to the latest version of DLGuard, v4.6.

Gary's claim that v4.6 wasn't a real update, only a bug fix is incorrect, and probably due to him misreading the feature description on the page he mentions:

http://guardhq.com/news/?cat=2

You will see the words "This release is mostly due to a couple of isses:", and followed by, "This update will handle both of those issues, plus a lot more".

Gary has mistaken this to mean that the couple of issues is the content of the update, but instead it was simply the reason why that update was released at that time (to quickly handle some changes some third party companies had made which affected DLGuard).

As you can see from the release description, there is actually ten changes to DLGuard, four of them quite significant.

Lastly Gary mentions "tampering with his prepaid account". What this is: Following Gary spamming my forum under multiple forum accounts (using proxy servers to hide his IP address), and Private Messaging over 50 forum members with a copy and paste of the complaints you saw here today, over the space of a couple of days, I recieved multiple complaints about his conduct from forum users.

I told Gary that if he continued to spam or harrass my clients or try and sabotage my business, I would refund his purchase of DLGuard, and he was welcome to find a different solution. I stand by those comments. My clients are my highest priority, and if Gary continues to harrass my clients, I will refund his purchase and he is welcome to find a different solution.

I hope this helps put this post into perspective.

Best wishes,

Sam Stephens
