Don Burleson (Burleson Consulting) has started drastically overbilling clients and disabling their database systems if they don't pay the inflated invoices. I don't know if they are falling on hard times or what but this happened to our company and we are aware of two other companies in Raleigh who are having the same problem. When confronted, he says he doesn't have to answer questions about their billing and we have to pay it whatever he says we owe if we want our database restored. We are at wits end and will probably have to file a criminal complaint but we will have to pay this extortion because the database they hacked is critical to our business. No matter what else you may have heard about Don Burleson, his books, etc. I would strongly advise NOT doing business with him if you value your data!

Burleson Consulting scam

AUTHOR: Wingin It Mgr - (United States of America)

I can tell you first hand the Burleson Consulting organization is currently under investigation for fraud, furthermore is being sued for 8 counts of fraudulent activity, (this action was filed in Greenville, South Carolina) and can be verified very quickly for anyone with some google skills. This company has been fraudulently charging customers and keeping the money and not paying the consultants that actually do the work (again check the lawsuit). It is a shame so many people believe that this company has such an outstanding reputation. I even believed this, until the fraud occurred. Please do your research before ever talking to this company or using their resources. They will lie to seem more believable.

#2 Author of original report

The other poster is right. This report is completely false.

AUTHOR: Jim Davis - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, October 31, 2009

As you can see I am the original poster and I am telling you that the original post is entirely false. The other person who posted is right and I should not have used their email address. I will not go in to the reasons that it was posted to begin with, but I assure you that Don Burleson and his company have not done anything wrong to me or anyone else. If any doubt remains simply look at their BBB record or note that there are not other negative references about  Don Burlseson or his company on the Internet. Don is in fact a recognized Oracle expert and you would do well to consider him for any consulting needs that you may have. I am sorry for any confusion that this may have caused but this update should clear this up and ensure that no one believes any part of the original post since I wrote it.

This report is totally false!

AUTHOR: Jim Davis - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, October 31, 2009

I am the owner of the email account that was used to file this bogus report. I made the mistake of leaving my session open in a public place and someone used my account to create this false report. I realized it when I saw that a password for this site was sent to me. There is no way that this report can be true because the person who posted this cannot be in North Carolina. I have no relationship to the person or company mentioned in this post but I felt an obligation to describe how this post happened and that it must be false. My best guess is that it might have been an employee of competing consulting company but who knows.
