My 03 Honda Civic was dropped off at his home at 9:30am Thursday March 17th, 2018 and picked up Wednesday night March 20th, 2018 at 7:30pm

I got in contact with him through San Tan barter buy sell trade page on Facebook which I posted for a Honda Mechanic. He kept in good communiction with me and answered all my questions conserning my car and it all made sense because I have researched my car issues before knowing the problems.

I went to him for a bad input shaft bearing and or maybe throw out bearing. He insisted its the throw out bearing because these model cars are famous for it, so he suggested for me to buy a complete clutch kit which comes with throw out bearing but not input shaft bearing so I did. He was sure it will be the throw out bearing not the input shaft bearing so I did not purchase the input shaft bearing being that he is the mechanic. The cost of the job requested from me which is putting the new clutch kit in and labor would cost me $450. and $80. for resurfacing the flywheel which is recommended when getting a new clutch and that it will take him 2 days to complete. I handed him $600. the morning of March 17th and the little extra was to be cool or in case he may need it. I was at that time by myself then my wife and sister picked my up.

March 19 at 3:18pm I text Donovan to check status and he replied his gonna need the car 1 more day due to taking his son to the emergency room for having the flu. I was concerned so I said ok cool take your time. 

Monday March 20th at 12:01pm I text Donovan that if he thinks my car wont be done today to let me know asap so that I can plan my day the next day. At 1:14pm he text me back that he definitly needs the car 1 more day and that he will have the transmission down in an hour and sent me pics of my car taken apart to get to the transmission. An hour later hour texts me pics of my transmission and the parts that I should have replaced like the pilot shaft is bad causing damage to my throw out fork and that I needed to call him. I called and he explained the issues and that it would cost me another $815.so I went to the bank and then to his house. He showed me the metal shavings from the pilot shaft which is actually the main shaft but I did not know till I got the car back and did research. He said that it needs to replaced now since the transmission is taken apart and that it will save me money by doing it now then having to pay for labor opening the transmission again later due to the issue not bening fixed as recomended.  I needed this fixed because my and wife I are celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary easter weekend. 

After showing and explaining to me the new issues aside from the trans issues he showed me that my motor mount was busted apart which it was and that my front lower ball joints driver and passenger side were also ripped up which also were and that he can fix that too if I would like for $200. more and since I am taking it on a long drive for vacation he really suggests that this be fixed because it could break and I could possibly lose control of my car and yes that is true because that I researched. Being that I got my tax returns back I said we may as well and I told him I am tapped out of cash so I cant afford anymore. He said everything else looks good.

Tuesday March 20th at 12:34pm Donovan text me saying needs the car 1 more day and just wanted to let me know that and to text him back to let him know that I got the text. I did replying thats fine. He replied back saying thank you I'll text you in the am. 

Tuesday March 20th at 3:00pm Donovan text me and says cars done brother id thought id surprise you. I asked if he test drove it? He said yes it drove nicely. I told him that I could not pick it up till around 6. He said to keep him informed so that he can be home when I get there and that he will be home around 7:30pm.

At 7:31 I text him saying im here. We both got into the car and drove it around and it felt cool and the clutch felt new and responsive. Gave me my old clutch back in the box the new clutch kit came in. I dropped him off and I went home.

The very next morning I started the car and it sounded just like before I took it to him so I text him about it and he said that that sucks because if it is the input shaft bearing he has to take apart the trans again. I told him that I mentioned in the begining and since he had to replace the main shaft in the trans why didnt he check all that when he had taken it apart and that he checked everything else external of the trans but not the internal of the trans since he supossedly taken that apart? He said another $400. and he will fix it? I told him your starting to be fishy. He said he will order the parts for bearings and that he has honda credits to use anyways. I asked what bearings are you ordering since I was doing research on it. He says carrier bearing, pilot shaft bearing, and servo bearing......??????

After all that I went ahead and popped my hood and jacked my car up to see if what externally I can see he fixed outside the trans and BOOYAA! Nothing was fixed outside the transmission that can be seen like the driver and passenger side lower ball joints and the motor mount! The subframe bolts were loose and I tightend and there are 2 bolts missing from the subframe too!

Everyday I text and call. No answer or replies. He even took his original Facebook page off but has another one under Donovan Dion Hutchison.

I phoned Gilbert police and was told its a civil matter because its not over $3000. and filing and serving fees are over $300.

According to Rip Off Reports he has done this in 2013 as far as record goes and with all the Facebook pages I have posted on this guy he has done this to many people young and old. HE NEEDS TO BE STOPPED!
