I agree with this post 100%. This office gives Prudential a terrible reputation. I dealt with a Peyman Mehzadeh as the listing agent from the same office. I couldn't agree more with this ripp off report. Peyman Mehzadeh's broker is this guy Michael Novothny. The agent is a d****e bag-incompetent. The broker who responsible for the agent did nothing. In my case the idiot agent apparently never explained to his client what fixed assets in a property are. By the time escrow closed-a microwave disappeared, the dishwasher was removed. The seller was removing blinds from the house with the listing agent present and the imbicile agent just sat there with his thumbs stuck between his legs. I contacted this Michael Novotny-asking Prudential to make me whole by replacing the items that were fixed to the house. All I got was a run around. They made over $13000 on the deal and all I am asking for is $2000 to make me whole. They pretty much misrepresented the condition of the property. Stay away from Prudential Malibu Realty-unless you want everything to disappear and be removed by the time escrow closes. They are scum bags.

Notice this was filed the same day as the first.  Coincidence? Hard to imagine someone is tracking Doug Carrol on Ripoff Report.  We believe this to be the same anonymous person as the first or an acquaintance.  Please disregard this posting as well and contact the CA Department of Real Estate and the  Malibu Association of Realtors for factual information.  You cannot just post false and slanderous comments on their sites without a fair hearing on the merits of your issues. For all who are watching, Michael (the responder) is Michael Novotny. Michael is Doug Carroll's broker who is also responsible for the shoddy work of Doug Carroll and the implications of such. Michael's response about Doug Carroll of Prudential Malibu is simply looking after his own selfish interests.

A recent notice was anonymously posted on this site.  No details about any transaction nor contact information given.  Doug has been a Realtor for many years and completed many transactions.  Doug handles many leases and sales large and small.  To date he has had no complaints filed with any Association or with the Dept. of Real Estate regarding any unethical behavior. This posting is unfounded and without basis. No name or contact information provided. Please check with the CA Department of Real Estate or the Malibu Association if you would like accurate information regarding Doug Carroll.

I couldn't agree more. I did business with him some time ago and had a similar experience. He's like the slumlord realtor of Malibu. I think he has a NY accent, which explains a lot if he's from back east. :) I wouldn't ever do business with Doug again either.
