Please be aware that Drive Time and Drive Financial are the same owners. Just be aware that when you purchase a vehicle that it has not been in any accidents. We bought our car in 12/2004 and after 1 year of having this 2001 Dodge Caravan Sport, it has been a nightmare!! We bought this vehicle that supposed had on 28,000 miles. We had spent money to put a rebuilt transmission @ 75,000 miles and $1,500.00 dollars on A/C unit and still doesn't work properly!!! and now the front end is totally out!!! This is a totally unsafe vehicle for my family... We hired an appraisal to look @ our vehicle and found out that this vehicle had been in 2 prior accidents before we bought it!!! They never disclosed this to us and we even asked as well.

Well let me tell you something Drive Financial, We have filed a lawsuit against your company with the SUPERIOR COURT for undisclosed amount!!! Since you did not want to settle with us. You give us no choice but to sue you!! See you all in court !!!

Good luck

With the lawsuit. No doubt you bought the used minivan "as is", which is how most used vehicles are sold. When you do that, it is up to you to verify that the vehicle is in an acceptable condition. Why people rely on the word of a used car salesman is a complete mystery to me. They have absolutely no incentive to tell you anything bad about a car, and they are covered by the "as is" paper you sign when you buy.

I see many people who go to the trouble of having their car appraised/inspected AFTER they've signed on the dotted line. The time to do that is BEFORE you buy the car. Once you've signed on the dotted line, you own the problems.

I have a feeling that you'll be dissapointed if you actually do spend the money to file a lawsuit (assuming you can find a lawyer who would cooperate). The contract you signed when you bought the car is going to be virtually impossible to beat.

Drive financed your auto loan when no one else would! Its not there fault that the auto dealer ripped you a new one! if you wont to file a ripoff report, do it on the dealer!!! he is the one that got you! or maybe you havnt figured that out yet ...let me help you...you picked out the car, you drove it, you said you wonted it...you had bad credit...they went to a sub prime leader( Drive Finance) they agreed to HELP YOU! they financed the car. NOW YOU WONT TO SUE THE PEOPLE THAT HELPED YOU! Think About it!!! are you telling the whole story? or maybe you have gotten behind on the payments and you just need someone to blame it on besides yourself!

Drivetime and Drive Financial ARE NOT the same company

AUTHOR: Financegirl - (U.S.A.)

You are incorrect -

Drive Financial is a lending institution that provides loans to dealerships in order to get customers financed.

Drivetime - AKA DT Credit Corp is a buy here / pay here dealership company that finances it's own loans.

It won't work

I had the same issue with a vehicle. 2 accidents in it's past that I didn't know about, multiple mechanical issues. Tried to go after the bank, didn't work. Called a lawyer to go after the dealer, found out it would cost more to sue them than to just pay for the vehicle. Guess what, I was stuck. Sorry and good luck.

Wrong Direction

AUTHOR: Been There Done That - (U.S.A.)

You are going after the wrong party. Drive did not sell u the car they financed it for you. The DEALER is responsible but ultimately you are for verifying their information as correct.
