If a restaurant in your neighborhood was temporarily closed because it made people sick, wouldn't you want to know?

Durso Cafe and Juice Bar in the hip area of SoMa San Francisco has reportedly given two patrons a bad case of food poisoning.

"It felt like someone reached in and was tearing out my stomach and twisting it violently" said Michelle V. of Hayes Valley, 29, who said she became ill two days after eating a sandwich at Durso Cafe in August. She said the nausea, body aches and diarrhea were so bad that her doctor thought she might have contracted Ebola.

Days later, tests confirmed it was salmonella.

Her partner also received the same results. How did they know it was from Durso? It was the only mutual thing they ate that whole week.

Yelp reviews of Durso Cafe also show similar complaints of feeling very ill. As well as a 5 star Yelp review written by the owner himself, for his own cafe. There are also allegations that the owner will give you a free cookie if you write a 5 star Yelp review, being as bold as having a sign next to the register saying "Show us your Yelp review and we will give you a free cookie". The sign has since been removed.

No comment has yet been made avaiable from the owner of Durso Cafe.

The Internet is a wonderful thing.  It makes things such as Health Department Inspection Reports easily accessible.  As most cities now does, San Francisco give the ability for anyone to search their inspection reports.  You can do this by going to the following address

sfdph.org/dph/EH/Food/Score/

If you search for this buiness you find that they have had 2 inspections, one was a transfer of ownership, one was a routine inspection.  The only one requiring a score they scored 100 out of 100.  But this is where it gets interesting.  Medical professionals are required by law to report any case of "food poisoning" to the Board of Health.   The board of health would then as standard procedure go to the location and perform an inspection.  So if this was really a "confirmed" case of food poisoning why isn't there an inspection report posted?

Another curious item...Since the doctor suspected Ebola did he at least report that and put you under the proper quarantine until food poisoning was confirmed?

One wonders what the full story is.
