E-Commerce & Leasecomm ripoff company & deceptive practices Woburn Massachusetts
It all started with a free dinner and a chance to take a look at some business ideas. My significant other and mysef attended a presentation which included information about candy machines, cell phones and making money on the internet. We were suckered into the candy machines (which luckily only bought one), and the internet. The speaker convinced us how quick and easy it wold be for us to be up and running with a website. The speaker told us the software would be supplied to us and all the information and equipment needed to charge on the internet. We said we had a Mac computer, he said no problem.
We took the software home and followed the directions and discovered that there was indeed a problem. The computer software never worked. We contacted the company several times and they told us they could not help us. The other piece of equipment we were supposed to get was described as a terminal for us to charge sales upon. What arrived was several pieces of carbonized credit card receipts, a plastic box and a metal plate that was supposed to be used for credit card sales.
We paid on the account for several months all the while trying to get the equipment to work. This never happened. We also noticed something about the bills. The amount quoted to us was approximately $65 a month, all of a sudden the charges were up to almost $100. When the company was contacted they drummed up additional charges that we knew nothing about.
So one day we said forget it and sent the equipment back to them. We told them that we were sending back the equipment to them and did not want any further contact with them. We thought that would be the end of it, but we were wrong. We received letters with charges and more charges on them. We again contacted who we thought were the company we were dealing with and were told that we had to deal with Leasecomm.
We were mad since we had not entered into any arrangement with Leasecomm. We had bought the the information & equipment from E-commerce who seemed to have somehow gotten involved with Leasecomm. We have refused to pay for anything futher since it is our contention that we did not receive any equipent that worked, training, or assistance from anyone.
They continue to send bills and call. We no longer even talk to them since they refuse to do anything about making it right with us. They are not concerned that we do not have any equipment or are using there services. They are rude and have now started threatening us with legal action.
Legal action should be directed towards them for ripping off the people If we can be included in a class action suit against E-commerce & Leasecomm please let us be a part of it. We think these rip off companies should have to pay back all the money to the customers that have been ripped off.
