Ebay took money out of my account without permission San Jose California

In September of 2008, I attempted to sell an item on ebay. It did not sell. I paid the listing fees via paypal, who had my debit card information on file. Just a few days ago, ebay went into my paypal account and withdrew a substantial sum of money, to, as they put it, pay the seller fees on an item that did not sell, and which the seller fees had already been paid.

The amount they removed was substantially higher than the amount I previously paid, and higher than the amount I agreed to.

I was online for hours trying to get it resolved, as ebay refuses to accept telephone calls. The representatives mysteriously kept disconnecting before I could get the issue resolved. I am complaining to the BBB and to the Attorney General as well, but I would like to warn everyone about the dangers of doing business on Ebay.
