I went to balance my checking account with my bank's internet site this morning when I discovered that a debit of $159.95 had been deducted. I did not authorize any debit so I called the 800 number listed with the debit to my account, 800-430-0672, I heard a recording that said they were EDP Reporting. I then went on line to see who this company was, they said you could email them or talk with a live operator none of which I was able to accomplish.

I then typed in EDP Reporting on my computer and your company came up. I immediately called my bank read what you had posted, they told me to come in immediately and sign a rebuttal, they would give me temporary credit.

How can these things happen, how many innocent people are they doing this to and how can they be stopped.

I have had $159.95 taken out of my checking account twice within the last two weeks. I found this web site last night and found it interesting to find that I am not the only one that this has happened to. I noticed that Bridgett suggested that we call the 818 #. Well I did and I was on hold for at least 30 min before I hung up the phone. Also, while I was on hold a message said that my card would be charged for using the customer service. I told this to my bank's fraud department and they that if a compnay charges you to use their customer service, they are a scam. After reading everyone's comments on what actions to take, you can best believe that I will be taking them.

Hopefully, this will be the beginning of their end. BTW, my checking account was hit again. I have now closed the account and started a new one. They just do not give up.

i am following up with my last response. i am letting you all know that channel 5 chicago has contacted me. they told me to get ahold of the attorney general and file a fraud report. they also told me that they would handle this story on their target 5 news segment, but they need more people to email them and complain. they also suggested that we all get together and file a class action suit. if anyone reads this, please respond, and you can email all your information on this matter at target5@nbc.com. i hope you do send your imformation to them, so they cant get away with doing this anyone else.

You state in one of your responses on this complaint that we should be attacking the person or persons that are illegally using our identities, I believe we are. That company would be you. You can't tell me that over 85 people that have filed the same complaint about the same company, are making up this story. I would love to know, if it is not you, then who do you actually think we should be sending these complaints to? It is your company that fradulantly has taken our money, used our identity information without our consent. It is your company that is showing up on all the bank staments, but if it is another company that we should be complaning to, please enlighten us and let us know who that is.

SUCCESS!!! I received an email from the Better Business Bureau, my complaint was filed; sent onto EDP Reporting, EDP Reporting responded; I now have the company's full address, their 818 number and the name of the owner of the company. I thought that I would share it with you folks in case you may need it to file a complaint with your area's Better Business Bureau. I cut the information directly from their response to the Better Business Bureau.

I also cut from their response this statement that I would like to share:

THERE IS ONLY 1 WAY FOR A CHARGE TO HAPPEN WE HAVE THE PROOF OF AUTHORIZATION FOR PREPAID DEBIT CARD: THERESA ORT ordered online on 2/14/06 for a prepaid debit card.

Now I know what company they associate themselves with. On February 14, 2006, I applied for a short term loan on line with Cash Net. I am so excited I can hardly wait to pass this information onto the Attorney General.

Now for you Bridgett You say that you are also from Pittsburgh then why after your name do you always list Westwood, California as to where you reside? Gee, something is not correct there oh no, Bridgett are you lying I am so disillusioned. Giggle.

As far as mentally challenged; well now the owner of your company just gave me the information that I need to put another nail in your company's coffin. I guess not all of us are mentally challenged as you like to elude. However, if I am mentally challenged, well now, this mentally challenged person is doing pretty darn good in complicating your company's monkey business.

I am also going to pass onto the Better Business Bureau and all of the agencies which I have contacted regarding your company; people's cities and states who posted on Rip Off Report so that they may see that this a nationwide scam.

Lets face it Bridgett, we cannot all be wrong, we cannot all be that illiterate that we would not know when we applied for a prepaid bank card. Believe me though your company has taught me a valuable lesson; like my grandmother used to say if it sounds like a duck, it walks like a duck it is a duck; thank you for reminding me that there are people out there who prey on others; to be careful.

A small victory people but, a victory all the same. Oh, EDP Reporting said that they would refund my money, which is great but the FDIC already refunded mine oh yes, I notified them also. Now, EDP Reporting refund the money to all the people who have not found Rip Off Report, who feel helpless, feel scammed without a resolution.

Sigh, guess Bridgett will have to take a cut in her salary when EDP Reporting has to refund their golden rings or, they go out-of-business.

S.N.- Bucyrus- There is an old saying about excuses I'm pretty sure you may have heard the saying seeing that you have nothing but time on your hands. ONCE AGAIN WE DO NOT ADVERTISE SHORT TERM LOANS ONLY PREPAID DEBIT CARDS. It might help to read the small print sometime. Do you sit by your computer just waiting for a response and when its not what you want to hear you turn to critizism. Well guess what you may say whatever you feel the need to say as often as you need to say it. I'm not going to try to explain myself or waste anymore time trying to help someone who don't want it.

Susan- to answer you question NO I'm not the only employee my company has. The only reason I have been responding to your complaints is because I was hoping that I might be able to share some light by assisting and explaining on how to go about getting a possible refund. By the way my english is no different then yours you may want to enroll yourself and Mr. Bucyrus in that class as well. No one took advantage of you, You took advantage of yourself by not taking the time to read and understand what you was submitting.

In case you haven't read all 85 complaints I do believe several have gotten refunds. Just for your record if you've READ all the complaints you would have notice different employees have sent in reponses. As I stated to S.N.

it seems to me you don't want my assistant in helping you get your money refunded therefore I have no more time to waste trying to help you.
You all can play follow follow if you choose, But you can not say someone from our company did not try to assist or help you get the matter resolved. I understand your angry and I would be to if this happened to me but if there's no communication then we got nothing I'm just an employee that tried to help.

You know, I firmly believe there are quite a few stupid people in our society. I DON'T however believe there are THIS MANY stupid folks. If it was one or two complaints I could swallow that they just didn't read what they were filling out but by the sheer volume of reports identical to this alone I believe this must be a scam. Just goes to show you that you have to be VERY careful about what information you release about your bank accounts, etc on the internet - you never know who may end up with that information.

Furthermore, I don't for one instant belive that ALL of the people that have filed a report on here just happen to call during hours that this office is closed due to the time change. Sounds like a BS excuse to me.

Bridgett, maybe your company should consider changing those two so clearly marked disclosure pages since apparently all of our society just isnt quite with it enough to understand they are about to be scammed for 160 bucks. Just a suggestion.

Oh and Bridgett? Maybe if you spent more time answering the phone and less time surfing the ripoff report more folks might get through to your company. Who knows..........

I totally agree; those of us who were scammed by this "company" need to join together, file a complaint and prosecute. I am more than willing to assist in retaining an attorney; see these people and other companys like them, prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

You contacted the Chicago news media, I live in the Pittsburgh area, I have also been contemplating contacting the news media. Perhaps I will share with them that a party in the Chicago area has contacted the news media.

I think it is time that we stand united, show these people that we live in the United States Of America and we have chosen to excute our rights provided by the Constitution Of The United States.

I have filed a report with the BBB and I also filed a story with Chicago's channels 2 and 5 news, hoping that maybe they will pick this story up so we can let everyone know what is going on with this company, how fraudulent they are, how what they are doing is so completely illegal, and so that everyone ( all 85 ) can get their money back. I will post another response when I receive a response from them. Oh, I also filed a story with their news channel 2, California's channel 2. So let's hope with all this, as soon as all this gets out, that they won't be able to do this to anyone else.

I think this company is a complete scam! I also filed a report on this website, and still have not received any kind of response from Bridget. I think she is the only employee this scam has. She is the only one responding to our complaints. I also think she should take an english class, because she really cant spell or use proper english when she sends her responses. I think this person has the right idea. We should all get our names together and file one complaint with the right departments, and get a lawyer involved and sue these people, for taking advantage of the public. I was doing the same thing as you, just applying for a loan online, and that is when all this happened. I gave no authorization for them to do this to me. There are people out there, like me, who are living on a fixed income of social security and every penny counts. Every penny counts to all of us, and for a company to be able to do something like this is incredibly unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bridgett - Perhaps if you left your 818 number on the unauthorized ACH withdraw instead of the 800 number that would be helpful. Since I never contacted your company the only number that I had was the 800 number that appeared on my bank statement;I have cut and pasted it for you. This is what I saw when I accessed my bank account through the bank's unline service.

This is what appeared on my statement, your company didn't even have the decency to put your real company name EDP Reporting, I got the company's true identity when I called your "freebie" number.

I have unlimited long distance so placing a call to a toll number is not a factor for me. You keep striking out Bridgett - why don't you give me your true number on here - I can also pass that onto the proper authorities.

Dear Bridgett I just wanted to update you, when I spoke with the gentleman from the Western Pennsylvania Better Business Bureau, he suggested that I contact the Attorney General from your state; California which I did; I also received a very pleasant response from the Attorney General's Office of California.

He mentioned this little Code for the State-Of-California, Business and Professions Code Section 17509. He also told me that I should contact the California Department Of Justice; that I should initiate legal proceedings against your company. He was even so kind to give me their address and a direct telephone for this office and GUESS WHAT they answered their telephone and responded, unlike your company. I am sure I can get other individuals with whom you have victimized to join with me in a lawsuit against your company.

I also contacted my Congressman, my Senators who are in Washington, DC; I contacted my state government officials and I also contacted the Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner who will be in contact with the California State Police.

You see this time you did not commit fraud against somebody who is willing to sit back and allow you to victimize myself and other innocent people. When I discussed with the Police Commissioner that I assumed that you had received my banking information from a company that I had applied for a short-term loan; that I assumed that your company was attached to this company; the Commissioner and the Attorney General asked for the company names which I was more than pleased to provide him.

I am not sure exactly what scam you are running but, I will make things as uncomfortable for you as you have your victims.

YOU have never been asked for proof? Could that be because of people unable to contact your company (you need to READ the complaints you are responding to)? She asked for it, folks, now give it to her...get an inexpensive speaker phone (don't forget the recorder and tell them you are taping them). Read a book, watch a movie and just keep sitting on hold till someone answers the phone. Do it every day, or several times a day if you can. Be sure and ask for Bridgett and ask for PROOF that you requested their rip off card. Good luck.

ONCE AGAIN OUR INFORMATION IS IN PLAIN VIEW AND NOT HIDDEN ON THE WEBSITE. IT ALSO STATES THIS NOT A CREDIT CARD BUT A DEBIT CARD. WE DO HAVE THE PROOF OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION GIVEN TO US THREW YOUR COMPUTER I.D. ONCE AGAIN FROM TIME TO TIME PEOPLE OFTEN READ WITHOUT REALLY UNDERSTANDING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND THIS IS THE RESULT OF THAT. THERESA YOU MAY CONTACT WHOMEVER YOU FEEL YOU NEED TO CONTACT, THE FUNNY THING THAT GETS ME IS THAT NOT ONE TIME HAVE I BEEN ASK FOR THE PROOF THAT WE LEGALLY HAVE TO TRY TO GET THE MATTER RESOLVED. This is an update on my activities since my last update.

I contacted the BBB of Pennsylvania, it took the gentleman making a telephone call to EDP Reporting, some research on his part but, he found them, he listed so many names in which they do business and he gave me their full address which will be needed to file a complaint with the BBB.

For anybody else who wishes to file a complaint regarding this business the address is:

He also told me to contact the attorney general's office, the Federal Trade Commission; since I assume that they obtained my personal information from a loan application which I did on-line. He also suggested that I get in touch with the news media so that this can be reported and others will see what this company is about.

I am responding to Bridget, the employee of EDP. I did NOT agree to any terms and conditions with your company. I had applied for a loan on line with a company; I am assuming that is how your company obtained my personal information. It seems strange that if your company is completely innocent of fraudulent activity that so many other individuals have had the same experiences with your company as I have.

I just read Eric's complaint, your rebuttal, his responses to you; as soon as I post this email I will be contacting the BBB of Pennsylvania, the FCC, Attorney General, Pennsylvania State Senators, Pennsylvania National Senators and any other government agency that I can think of in assisting me in putting your company out of business.

What your company is doing is illegal, unscrupulous, unprincipled, unethical and many other adjectives. But, it has now become my mission to make sure that your company and other companies such as yourselves, will be stopped. I have seen reports on television regarding companies such as yours and the poor individuals that have been scammed but, I always thought I was too intelligent to be scammed I was wrong. Now I will right that wrong in whatever way that I can.

THERE IS ONLY 1 WAY FOR A CHARGE TO HAPPEN WE HAVE THE PROOF OF AUTHORIZATION FOR PREPAID DEBIT CARD: THERESA ordered online on.

The application was submitted fully authorized for the charge & agreed to the terms & conditions. The application is divided into 2 separate screens. The companies we support are regulated, monitored & compliant, the app is purposely 2 screens (not just 1 or 1 button) to discourage an applicant that doesn't agree & authorize the one time fee, terms & conditions from submitting. Requiring each screen to be completed, authorized & agreed to by the applicant. You can not go to the next screen before acknowledging you've read the terms & conditions which state the one time fee would come out of the bank account entered. Before filling anything out the first screen gives all the information about the prepaid card allowing the customer to make an educated decision whether or not to apply for the prepaid card 2 part application.

As a support center we recommend to Theresa of Indiana PA before acknowledging having read terms & conditions take the time to actually read them & before entering personal info like banking info to understand what fee is being authored.

Our Customer Support Center is aware, even after stating the facts about our customers online orders based on proof authorization that can be tracked to the computer were it was submitted, there will be some who consider our support unsatisfactory but as long as we provide the facts and we assist in a professional manner we are conducting ourselves accordingly.
