Nowadays they have these consignment shops with Ebay accounts where you can take your stuff and they just auction it off on Ebay rather than you doing it yourself. I guess it sounds good in theory, but the reality of my experience is pretty grim.

I tried to buy a $150 piece of hardware from an Ebay "trading assistant" called Edropoff Express. It was listed as new and in excellent condition but the item they sent me had several dents, a cracked casing, and was covered in duct tape residue. I got no response to my complaints for several days so I opened a dispute with them in Ebay. They responded to the dispute and said that I had to pay to send the item back to them and that if they did not get it within 7 days of that email, my refund would be denied! I had to pay to send it back (I got no refund for the return shipping either!) and the day after UPS confirmed that it was received, I found that Edrop-off had re-listed the item in Ebay as brand new and in excellent condition!

If you go to myworld.ebay.com/edropoff/ and go to the sellers store and use the search tool to search edrop-off's store for the words "new" or "tags" you get all kinds of brand-new high-end stuff like Prada, Gucci, LV, ... But these guys are just a consignment shop with an Ebay account so where do they get all that brand new stuff? And how do they get all that designer stuff which are advertised with close up photos of the thousand dollar price tags from other stores still attached? I think that either they have a team of shoplifters or they have an overseas supplier of fakes and they make the price tag themselves.

Response From Edrop-off Express

AUTHOR: Edropoff - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, July 27, 2008

To Whom It May Concern:
In order to provide clarity and truthfulness to a situation that has been vastly distorted and contains blatant lies, I would like to respond to the claims made about myself and my business. The customer purchased eBay item 280232913292 from us on June 9, 2008. Upon receipt he notified us via eBay dispute console with a complaint the item had been advertised as new but item he received was used. Immediately we examined the auction and saw that indeed we had made a mistake, the item was photographed and listed in description as being used but in the specifications we had stated new. We apologized and explained to him that it was indeed our listing error and provided instructions where to return the item for a full refund. Upon receipt of the returned fan we issued a refund check to the buyer for the full purchase price, original shipping, and return shipping. Buyer then states we relisted the item as being new, as one can see from the relisted auction it clearly states used in specifications: eBay auction: 250269995278. The customer has now expressed his selling experience with defamatory and false reports on Scam.com, ripoffreport.com, yelp.com, and eBay negative feedback in an attempt to sabotage a small business over a transaction that he was fully reimbursed for. Over the past 4 years Edrop-off Express has sold over 20,000 items on eBay with a 99.2% Positive Feedback Rating, Platinum Power Seller Status, Professional eBay Sellers Alliance Member and more . Specializing in designer and luxury goods with a fashion design background we sell for the elite across the country. Our items are new and used including Chanel, Gucci, Hermes, Rolex, Cartier, Louis Vuitton Etc. Some of these major designers have verified the authenticity of the products we sell. Clearly with the status we have achieved through Ebay and the reputation we have obtained by servicing our clientele, it is obvious that the Customer's complaint if full of inaccuracies and lies. If anyone cares to discuss this situation please feel free to contact us at 773.525.SHOP or edropoff@yahoo.com. It would be our pleasure to provide eBay documented correspondence log for this transaction.
