My girl friend and I invited 10 people to El Morocco Restaurant on Sat Aug 05, 2006. When we called and made the reservation, we talked to the owner and asked how much it would cost per person including tax, tip, and everything. He said it would cost $34 per person. The reason we asked that was because last time we invited our guests to that restaurant, at the begining, we were told the complete meal (started + main dish + dessert + soda) would cost $28 and then at the end we ended up paying $37 per person. Btw, there is no price on the menu. Well, last time we paid it and left it behind. This time we called and asked ahead of time to make sure we won't run into the same kind of issues. We also asked the owner whether it would be possible to issue separate checks for each paying guest or group of guests who would like to pay their own check so we would not end up keeping track of who ate/drank what. We were told that is not posible. So, we decided to pay for the group. However, the owner mentioned they would put everything but the meals on a separate bill and let whoever orders places the order pay for it separatly.

We went to the restaurant and before we pick our dishes, we asked the waiter (Nabil) twice to put everything other than the meals on separate checks and let people pay for themselves. At the end, when we asked for the check, the waiter brought us a check that everything was mixed up, it wasn't clear how many meals were served, and they were charging us for 11 guests instead of 10. When I asked how many meals were served, the waiter told me that he didn't know that. When I asked that how could he not know that, and if that was the case, how did he calculated the total, he went off on me and told me to not to talk to him like that!!! I asked for his manager right away. He bluntly ignored my request. I went to the bar and asked the lady behind at the bar (Karen) to call the manager. The waiter interrupted me and said he is the manager. I asked for the owner and he said he is not going to do it and when I asked him frequently why he is not simply answering my question and telling me how many meals he served, he said 11. I told him that he is mistaking and again asked for the owner. He kept saying that I shouldn't be talking to him like that and treathened that he would call the police. I told him that he can do whatever he wants to do and repeated that I need to talk to the owner. He used the F word and turn around. That was the first time in my entire life that someone was using the F word towards me, especially in a restaurant. The lady at the bar stepped in and said that the owner wasn't there and tried to handle the situation. Well, I have to mention that she was polite and punctual. We paid for 11 meals and got out of that place. I couldn't let them get away with it this time. So, I thought wrting this report would help to inform others to be aware of the ripoff, fraudulent billing, and use of profanity towards customer in that place.
