This company is a rip-off, they are selling used phones unbeknown to the buyer.After I got my phone from Elephant I could not get it "set Up". All the information for the former owner of that phone was still programed, They didn't even erase it.
When I called Cingular they said that they could do nothing.Elephant is a free agent and can charge WHAT they WANT When they WANT.But I am under contract with Cingular. This does not make sense. Elephant charged me all kinds of service fees , then when I got my bill from Cingular they also charged me the same service fees.Cingular did credit me those fees. this tells me They Can do something , and in order not to lose customers they should. They should also look into controlling these "Resellers"
There is also an issue with the Insurance I paid for up front.
Cingular is not even aware of any insurance, yet the contract I signed with Elephant has Cingular on the letter head!. Elephants name does not appear ANYWHERE!!!This deceptive and Fraudulant!

I am an employee of the Authorized Agent you speak of. In all actuality, if you would go through your paperwork you would find an "Elephant Wireless Agreement" which you yourself signed, stating that you paid for "E-Club" insurance. E-Club is in fact a seperate insurance company, and this would be why Cingular is unaware of any other insurance you may have. We sell E-Club because it offers you a cheaper deductible.
Allow me to state also that we do not in fact sell "used" phones. Cingular offers a 15 day return policy on any equipment. OFTENTIMES, people return a phone because it just wasn't what they'd hoped, or it was too complicated, etc. Odds are you received a phone that was exchanged for another model. This is something that can occur at any location.
The last point I'd like to make is that we do not ever misrepresent our company or who we are. If you look at your sales receipt it clearly states "Cingular Wireless by Elephant Wireless of Maryland." Not only that, but the polo shirts we are required to wear clearly ALSO read Elephant Wireless on them. As well, you, yourself, as well as any other customer who purchases a phone from us signs the Elephant Wireless agreement.
If you are in fact having trouble with your phone, you may drop it off to any of our technicians; Columbia, Towson, or Baltimore. You may also take advantage of E-Club, since you stated you paid for it in full.
