I typically delete any emails from senders I do not recognize, however, when I saw an offer for a free labtop, I could not resist. I checked online to find out more about the company, but found nothing that mention any fraud committed by the company, so I gave it a try. Needless to say, I signed up and tried to complete the "required" activities to receive my labtop.

Upon checking the status of my account today, I found that the website I usually check has been changed to ProductTestersGroup. The site was offering the same labtop. There was no way of checking my status and did not mention anything about a change in name or mention of "eMarket Research Group".

I did another search to find the website and came across this website with the subject: "EMarket Research Group Free computer my a*s. Delray Beach Florida Thanks Rip off Report *Consumer Suggestion ..Contact Emarket Research Group." I wish this was available earlier.

Not a Rip Off

AUTHOR: Bob - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, December 30, 2004

I too was skeptical of the free products by emarket, but I did give it a shot for the free 40gb apple ipod. I received it yesterday. It took a good month and a half for the total process, but if you choose the right offers you are set. They are not ripping anyone off, and seriously nothing is completely free. I probably spent a total of 30 dollars on these offers. A lot of the offers are completely free. AOL, AOL Music,White Smile(if u email them to cancel like the next day), Blockbuster(which comes with some cool free rental coupons as well), etc. I called them too and they do call back. The support is helpful. Until the day I received the ipod was skeptical, but now I can tell all my friends about it. I read these comments for the last few weeks and it made me scared that I wasted all this time, but I just wanted to set things straight. I dont know how the laptop works out, and of course the offers are going to be more costly. COME ON people, a lapton is worth over 1000 and an ipod is worth 400. There is a reason they dont just let you choose what you want for free after the offers are complete. I did this thing through emarket, but I ended up talking to Inscentive Rewards, I guess they are the same company. Hope this helps.

To all,

We cannot vouch for the operations of other incentive-based web sites like eMarketResearchGroup. However, the promotion "Product Testers Group" has been discontinued and has been replaced with ConsumerSurveyGroup. Regardless, both promotions operate identically.

We make it very clear during the registration process through our terms and conditions and our web site that users must refer their friends to take surveys at our web sites before they can receive the gift advertised. These redemption requirements MUST be completed before the gift (ex. PS2, Gift card, etc.) can be received. This is clearly stated on our web site and in no way do we deceive our users. While we do not require users to directly purchase or force their friends to purchase items as part of the terms, we do require that they refer their friends to take our survey in order to defray the cost of the gift.

Our surveys are sponsored by our advertiser clients and pay for the cost of these various gifts. Unfortunately instead of completing the initial registration process and learning what is required in order to receive a gift, many users may simply classify it as a scam. We are not a scam and we do ship out gifts to our users every month to those who qualify under the terms and conditions.

Users of the ProductTestersGroup promotion can check the status of their user referrals at:

I Got Ripped Off In A Different Way

AUTHOR: Mad - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 08, 2004

There is more than one way to get ripped off by either Emarket Research or Cover Clicks or whoever the hell is responsible. In spite of pop blockers and anti virus progams on my computer, some low down scum bucket hijacked my computer.I got persistent annoying ads for thier "Product Testers Wanted" proclamations. There was no way to remove the virus while it caused the computer to run slower. I had to pay an unwanted expense at a computer repair place to fix it. To you Jeff in Delray Beach. Please point out the low life who was responsible for causing this unwanted expense to me.Don't laugh too hard as I ask for a futile apology along with a futile $60 reimbursement.Even if you or your company had nothing to do with this, well, you know how I feel about your annoying ads regardless. Thanks for nothing. You don't want "product testers".You want people's money.
