We called Empire Carpets to come out and do an estimate. They did so and gave us a fair deal and said that they would have their installers move our furniture for us for the install.  We scheduled our install date and received a confirmation email.  We were in the middle of a remodel and had everything scheduled around the carpet install. The day of the install no one showed up. So we called Empire and they said they did not have us the schedule at all even though we confirmed our install date and that we had to wait another week. The day of the install the carpet installer barely understood english and told us they would not move the furniture. We had another hispanic worker here doing tile work and the installer from Empire said he was barely making any money on the job and that he was not paid enough to move the furniture. He told our tile installer that Empire hires hispanic workers for very cheap and that Empire gets most all of the money and that is why they have such a large turnover of workers. I feel this is an abuse on many levels. I had left a message with the LOS ANGELES manager of sales David Dyer about our issue and he has never returned our call.  I caution anyone that wants to do business with them. They are not reputable or care about their customers at all.

Does it make sense to purchase carpeting from a company that doesn't have a showroom in your town where you can go when you have a complaint about the product or their service?

Ask the Empire rep where you can go and see their showroom in your town or in any other town in the USA. You might be surprised when you find the answer.

The issue has been taken care of and I am now having (((competitor's name redacted))) do our install. I will NEVER use or suggest Empire at all. I think it is a disgrace and probably illegal if looked into that the workers you have doing your work who do not speak barely any english BTW are even legal???   Scam all the way all for profit for the big guy. No thanks Empire I will pass.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

It's Funny....

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, February 09, 2013

1) How the Empire television commercials never show shabbily dressed Hispanics doing the work. Always well dressed white guys in a nice Empire uniform.

2) That the saleman will never identify themselves with an Empire employee ID when they arrive. Must be a reason for that....

3) That the installers will never identify themselves with an Empire employee ID when they arrive. They probably don't have a green card either.

4) How people will let anyone into their home not knowing if they have been properly background checked and drug screened.

Best of luck to you.
