Enterprise is now instituting policies that DISCRIMINATE AGAINST SENIOR CITIZENS. Was just informed by my local Enterprise Office that, in spite of my years of business with Enterprise, having no negative criminal, civil, or driving record and NEVER having not paid for my past rentals, since I am now retired - and therefore don't have a "pay stub" and a revolving credit account because I like to deal in cash, they refuse to rent a car to me. Apparently my debit card (with MasterCard logo) is not sufficient and they are acting as if I'm buying the car and not just renting. THIS IS DISCRIMINATION OF THE HIGHEST ORDER AGAINST RETIRED SENIOR CITIZENS and is an outrage. PLEASE BOYCOT ENTERPRISE IN SUPPORT OF RETIREES EVERYWHERE!

Could be they choose not to have cc's

AUTHOR: sal - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, May 20, 2014

Has it occured to you that this individual does not want to have credit cards?  I am someone who does not have credit cards by choice.  I don't feel the need to spend money that I do not have.  I bought my home and car for cash.  I pay my utilities etc. on time, as well as my auto, homeowners and health insurance on time and in full.

I am self employed as a consultant, so I don't have pay stubs.  My credit rating is about as high as it can get.

I also trien to rent a car from Enterprise for  5 hours, as my car was being fixed just a block away.  I provided my debit card, drivers license, insurance card, vehicle registration card and was told that I needed proof of address. Last time I checked my drivers license has my address on it.  Fortunately I was able to go a block further to Hertz and they were more than happy to provide me with a car...go figure.

Yhink about all possibilities before you post.

Entitled Scum

I have rented cars hundreds of times, and people like you are the scum of the earth. Nobody discriminates against you. I work hard and monitor my finances so I can have a CREDIT CARD (Not your bank debit card with a mastercard logo. Its a DEBIT card. There is no line of credit attached, no assurety of payment, and no way to affect your credit when you don't return your vehicle. You are over the age of 55 and still don't know the difference between debit and credit and that is more embarrassing than anything else.)

Enterprise, Hertz, Avis, ALL rental companies have policies to be able to rent. If you can't qualify IT'S YOUR FAULT. Many of these companies will accept a bill showing no past due balance in lieu of a paystub, but at the end of the day if you can't prove creditworthiness to a credit card company, what reason do they have to rent you a $30,000+ vehicle in the hopes that you don't disappear into the night with it, because that is exactly what having a credit card prevents.

Grow up, get your finances in order, or borrow a car from a friend. At the end of the day, your poor life choices have led you to this point and nobody in this country owes you a thing, especially when you can't do it yourself.

Typical...

AUTHOR: Tyg - ()

POSTED: Friday, March 14, 2014

Typical response from the HIGHLY uneducated. Instead of addressing the issue, the OP attacks rebuttals. No I wont boycott them, YOU are not being descriminated against. And Im 100% sure "Your attorney" is that guy staring back at you in the mirror. YOU HAVE NO CASE!!! Its NOT discrimination against seniors, its just not giving you your way. And last time I checked, its not illegal for them to not give you your way. So you have lied about having an attorney as NO attorney is going to take a case vs one of the giant corporations. YOU dont have as much money as the rental car agency and they can throw more lawyers then you could EVER afford at this FAKE discrimination case.

All they have said is that they require a pay stub or some other form of identification in order to rent you a vehicle. THAT is not discrimination. It was a good try, but your lies are as transparent as YOU are. You are SUPPOSEDLY a senior. This means you are supposed to be wiser then you are acting.

Youre acting like a little drama hag because they didnt give you your way. Its called business, and if you wish to rent a vehicle from them you will have to follow the policies they have in place. Your attempt at social blackmail is as much of a FAIL as your retaining a lawyer. Had youo retained a lawyer you would have been instructed to not discuss the case with anyone. What YOU have done is in essence, since the web is a media outlet, is take a full page ad out in every printed publication in America. Thats how large of a user base the web has. That many people have the potential to read your slander. As such, this tells ANYONE who volenteers here that you are lying about the lawyer and odds are you are exagerating the situation in an effort to get something for nothing. Its the usual self entitled BS the American consumer uses to "punish" a business.

YOU didnt get your way and you figure if you go on RoR or other complaint sites, someone is going to read your post and give you something to shut you up. Talk about sleezy. Your behaviour is sickening and you should be ashamed of yourself. Maybe its a good thing your a senior, that way you cant embarrass your parents. Because they should be embarassed to have raised such a slimey and sleezy weasle. Especially given that this all started because they did not GIVE YOU YOUR WAY!

You should be ashamed of yourself for not only your slanderous statements, but the outright nastiness of your post. YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO GET YOUR WAY!!!! YOU DONT HAVE A CREDIT CARD, YOU DONT GET TO RENT A CAR!!! Grow the hell up. Its people like you that only go to prove the sterotype of both Americans and Seniors. A cranky old bastich who thinks that just because they have survived this long the are entitled to do whatever they want.

And let me cut you off at the pass. I have never worked for ANY rental agency. I am however a consumer who sees you for what you are. A self-entitled jack@ss who likes to lie online in order to get something for nothing because their credit is SO BAD they couldnt get a credit card even if it meant saving their own life. And since THEY REQUIRE A CREDIT CARD, youre just SOL. Hey maybe that "lawyer" will rent a car for you, if they exist that is.

I happen to know that you are a shill. A very poor one at that. Please don't try to cross swords when you so obiously unarmed! That's all my attorney has allowed me to say at this time. It's out of my hands now. Get ready for a major loss!

WRONG....

AUTHOR: Robert - ()

POSTED: Thursday, March 13, 2014

Nothing in your report shows that they are singleing out Senior Citizens.  All you have written is that they require a Credit Card and/or Pay Stub in order to rent a car.   This qualifies for people of ALL ages, unless you say that every non-senior citizen in the United States is going to have a job or Credit Card.

They are allowing people to rent cars worth thousands of dollars, and as such are going to have certain credit requirements.  They "choose" to rent to people who have Credit Cards or Pay Stubs, just like you "choose" to deal in cash.

As long as it is universal for everyone there is NO discrimination.

By the way, this is actually a standard policy of most Car Rental Companies.  But some branches in some areas do on occasion make exceptions.

Oh and I won't be boycotting Enterprise on behalf on people without Credit Cards..sorry.
