Wow, I can't believe how much a previous complaint sounds just like mine, except it was in a differnert state.

I was rearended by an uninsured driver with a suspended license and unregistered car.  While my car was in the body shop, I got a rental from eneterprise.  It had scratches and dents all over the outside.  There were blue and pink stains inside the car and cigaret burns on the front seat.  As the employee and I went over the car before I took posession, I questioned the condition of the car and like the other complaint, I was told that they didn't care as long as the damage was smaller than a 1/2 dollar.  He had his plastic card with the holes to measure.

I took the car straight home and put it in the garage.  I worked the next 2 days , 12 hour shifts.  The one day, I parked with no one my left side(the side with the white paint).  On the secon day I pulled straight into a wide parking space.  On either day, there was no way another car could have hit the front left corner of the bumper.  I dropped the car off after hours, so I wouldn't be charged another rental day.  Enterprise opens at 7 or 7:30.  They called me at 8:30 to inquire about the front bumper damage.  I went right to their location to see the car.  There was white paint on the corner of the left front bumper.  I know it wasn't there when I had the car.  I would have seen it.

I touched it with my fingers and it was gritty, and thicker in places than others.  The bumper didn.t look scraped, it looked like paint had been put on it.  Moving from top to bottom, there was paint, then there was no paint.  I believe the paint was put on after I dropped the car off, and they want me to pay for the "Damage"

I got angry, and the employee backed down a little and said, "well maybe it can just be buffed out".  I have no idea what is going to happen.  I took pictures, and I feel the paint looks questionable.  My insurance people handling the original claim are out until tomorrow.

Replacement Car Insurance

AUTHOR: John - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, February 17, 2012

I do not or ever have worked for Enterprise or any car rental company.  I have rented cars from them for many years all over the nation during my travels.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car or any car rental agency don't really car that an unemployed unlicensed drunk driver hit you and your car is in the shop.  If you paid a couple bucks more per month for your car insurance and get the rider that covers a replacement car for when your car is in the shop, you would not have to front the bill for the rental car. You would simply call up your carrier and they will arrange a car for you while your car is getting fixed.  Truthfully you are saving only 2 or 3 bucks a month by not having the replacement vehicle insurance (at least on my policy)

As far as dropping the car off when the rental office is closed.  You are responsible for the car until it is received by the employee of Enterprise after they open up.  If in fact someone else bumped into the car and damaged it it is your problem.  I would and do never return a rental car unless the office is open.
