Equifax has allowed an incompetant firm to incorrectly report a debt, and despite 3 letters to Equifax, they have failed to investigate and uncover the wrongdoing, preferring rather to simply send me a generic reply each time. They are worthless, and fraudulent. In reading the many complaints against them in this forum, I can see that this is nothing new. Question is, what can we DO about it? Whom can we complain or write to who can do something about them? Someone in the state of Georgia, perhaps? Is there a consumer complaints organization in the state? Please email me with any suggestions and lets put Equifax out of business once and for all.

nothing but a bureaucratic maneuver

I also have issued with Equifax. I sent a complaint letter to the Georgia State Attorney General's Office, and it was simply referred to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) Atlanta District Office. This is nothing but a bureaucratic maneuver and contacting either one is a waste of time. They have had many thousands of complaints about Equifax and referring them to a dark hole in the void is second nature.
The best way to deal with them is through an attorney who specializes in this kind of thing. The problem lies with the system itself. Credit rerporting isn't even legal in most of Europe.
