Equifax is reporting in my credit report obvious incorrect information. I have submitted multiple disputes and Equifax has refused to correct the information even when the mortgage company has explicitly stated in a letter that the information in my credit report is incorrect. In Equifax own credit report reflects information that supports that the late payments reflected are incorrect.

The report explicitly states that my mortgage company sold and transferred the loan to another company on March 17 2009, but the credit report reflects 120 days late payments on May 2011, June 2011, April 2009, and March 2009. I have disputed the obvious incorrect late payments multiple times and Equifax had not corrected the information due to the fact that they claim that they can not change the information unless the mortgage company reports it as incorrect. Equifax representatives have stated that they know that the information is incorrect, due to the fact that it is impossible to be late on dates after a transfer, but they have taken the position that the mortgage company has not reported the information.

I have call the mortgage company and they have stated that they have instructed all the credit agencies to correct the incorrect information. The Transunion and Exprian credit reports are correctly reporting the information. Equifax is the only credit agency that is knowing reporting the incorrect information. I have a consensus from they mortgage company that the information in the Equifax report is incorrect but they can only instruct Equifax to fix the information which they have done.

My frustration is that Equifax has afmitted that the information is being reported incorrectly, that the mortgage company has explicitly stated in a written letter that the information is incorrect, and that Equifax has refuse to corrected. How can Equifax knowingly be reporting incorrect information and be credible? How can creditors depend on information that Equifax reports when they knowingly and intentionally report incorrect information.

I have file a complaint with the Federal Trafe Commission against Equifax for the blaitan inacurracies. I have informed Equifax that I have filed the complaint and will pursue further action to compel them to correct the information and they have stated that they done not care. Equifax should be discredited as a legitimate credit reporting agency, they by there own statements and action do not care about reporting accurate information.
