Equistar Financial Group Loan Scam Online Application - David Price contacted me said approved for $15000 with a $1000 deposit. Sent Moneygram to Canada and then Frank Boston called asking for another $553. SCAMMED! Currently harrassing them back for my money. Waterbury Connecticut

August 2008 - Filled out an online application on www.equistar-financial.com for loan approval. Contacted first by Daniel Price and he told me I was approved for a $15,000 loan w/ two options. One - to send $1000 to insure the loan through an insurance company or Two - secure the loan by sending in 5 payments upfront for $1533. I blindly chose the first option out of desperation and wired $1000 to Ajax, Canada to Walter C. Strickland. The very next day I heard back from Daniel Price's boss Frank Boston saying there was a miscommunication and they needed another $1000 from me to secure the loan or I could send them the $533 against the 2nd option. Then the lightbulb finally went off that something was fishy. I promptly asked for a refund and that's when the nastiness started. They claim I will receive a refund by check mailed 5-7 business days later minus 36% interest for not following through with the loan. I'll update if I receive a check but I'm 99% sure I got SCAMMED.
