Beware of ezaria.com. This is an internet-based "store" that specializes in goods from other countries. They donate a portion of their profits to charitable causes. Overall, a good business model but absolutely terrible execution.
After reading a positive review about this company in the Wall Street Journal, I ordered a set of hand made African goods in spring of 2006. I paid through PayPal (big mistake) and quickly received an email stating that the goods I ordered were on back order for about 4 weeks. They offered me an unrelated good at the same price as the goods I ordered (which would be discounted from the regular price). I replied that I could wait until the end of June to receive the goods I originally ordered.
To make a long story short, it is now Fall 2006 and I have still not received the goods I ordered! I have sent numerous emails to ezaria's CEO and customer service only to receive a long-winded explanation about how they are having trouble getting the goods out of Africa due to export issues....yadda yadda yadda. I was assured that the goods would be shipped to me within the next 2 weeks. Another month goes by and I get an email from someone at ezaria.com asking if I received the goods yet. When I replied "no", I received an apology and assurance that my order will have priority status. That was over 3 weeks ago.
I will continue to try to get a credit from PayPal but am not confident this will be resolved through them.
To add insult to injury, my ezaria.com purchase is not included in my ezaria.com order history. If I recall, I was told that this was a "glitch" in their e-commerce software. Right!
